Fury has fought TWO top-10 boxers in 8 years. The guy is a walking illusion. Usyk will shatter it, if Fury turns up that is.
You can't be top level with the kind of opposition Fury has had. He struggled with Wallin, the only half decent boxer he has fought in recent times (outside the top-20 at the time!). And neither Whyte nor Wilder are actually good boxers (more good fighter/brawlers). Very poor preparation for Usyk

Nerds are people that say Ngannou is a comeback for AJ.
It’s a money fight for AJ just as it was for Fury.
I like AJ but man I hope Ngannou beats him so we can hear more “come back” fights for him.

Lennox got KO’d by Rahman and McCall. He didn’t go fight a UFC guy with one boxing fight experience to get a comeback.
AJ is on a three fight winning streak, how in the world is Ngannou a comeback fight?

This is going to be AJ and Hearn's spin for life. They never had to face Fury because AJ did everything better. Never had to face Wilder because Wilder lost to Parker. Granted, the Wilder that lost to Parker probably loses to AJ.

Where did I say Ngannou is the pinnacle? That's the Saudis recouping some of their money from these fine events. I'm ok with them giving him a freebie. I didn't see much crying when Fury fought him and he is still undefeated. That was even worse because he was a belt holder who should have been in the undisputed fight. AJ doesn't have any belts now.Last edited by hhh1200; 01-16-2024, 01:11 PM.

I'm going to be seriously amused watching Eddie's face if Ngannou manages to knock AJ out. I'm rooting for Usyk to batter Fury and Ngannou to pull the upset and just wreck that heavyweight apple cart, just because these guys have spent so much time holding up the division.

I didn't realise they had so many opponents in common -- off the top of my head, I was thinking there were just a couple.
Joshua certainly fared better against Wallin than Fury did. I don't think any of this makes too much difference though. One of the things that I like is how active Joshua has been lately. The opponents haven't been stellar, but Wallin was at least a step up. Ngannou feels like a money grab and a step back in terms of quality, though of course the man has power and durability. Zhang, if he is next, would be very good.
