Comments Thread For: WBC Rules On Alycia Baumgardner Drug Testing Case, Places Her On Probation For One Year

Alycia Baumgardner is cleared to fight. Sort of. A ruling from the World Boxing Council (WBC) determined that the undisputed junior lightweight champion was "not guilty of intentional ingestion or consumption of a banned substance for performance enhancement purposes" following a lengthy investigation. Baumgardner tested positive for the banned substance Mesterolone surrounding her revenge-fueled, points win over Christina Linardatou last July 15 in her hometown of Detroit, Michigan.

I would really love to know her explanation as to how Primo and Proviron entered her system unintentionally.

        Here it is, folks.

There is no drug testing in boxing. Period.

There is a system to catch B-Side fighters from using banned substances when fighting A-Side fighters.

Any time it's a big-money fighter that fails a test, there is always a pass given. Canelo, Fury, Morales, Roy Jones, Whyte.... all the way to Ali testing positive when he fought Holmes.

When was the last time there was a big PPV in boxing, and after the fight the A-Side who won.... tested positive? And then had to give whatever belts they won back, fight changes to NC, give a percentage of their insane purse, etc.?

Never. It's never happened in Boxing's history. Not even once.
