It goes to show how many casuals are in the media when they say these things. Spence was never a highly skilled fighter. He had decent skills with good power and he drained himself down from 180+ to make 147. Most if not all former great welters beat him; Griffith, Napoles, Rodriguez, Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Trinidad, Oscar, Whitaker, Manny, and I’d favor some others to beat him also like Mosley, Forrest, Cotto, possibly the version of Thurman who beat Porter and Garcia. Not sure if he beats Margarito or Fernando Vargas either.

How would Errol Spence fair against most ATG or top WWs?

look how much even the prime version of spence struggled with porter.
as long as timmy dont *** around like he did against provodnikov, it's an easy 8-4 type of fight in favor of bradley
Porter had won against Ugas and Danny Garcia, he also was a more difficult task for Crawford than Spence was based on styles.Last edited by Malvado; 01-13-2024, 03:56 PM.

How he will fare? Don't know. We can only gauge him for his fights with PBC fighters. Getting summarily executed by Bud Crawford made me think those PBC welters were not really as elite as they've been depicted to be for years. It's been a weak division to say the least.real raw likes this.

He beat Yori Boy Campas, Raul Marquez, Wilfredo Rivera, Javier Castijello, Ike Quartey and Wrinky Wright. A resume probably on par with Jermell Charlo, except he has a controversial win over a ATG (Wright) after a very competitive bout at 21 years old.
Might be also be a closer fight between Vargas and Spence than people think considering his competitive performances with ODLH and Trinidad before getting stopped.
Have to rematch Margarito, I know about the handwrapping controversy and see how he performed before getting caught, he always seemed slow handed to me but having a win over Maravilla Martinez seems impressive. Other than that, I wouldn't know if he used casts his whole career.
I don't know if all the greats beat Errol, but I do think he be a tough task for plenty of em.

Still though solid resume, three division champion with wins over the likes of Kell Brook, Shawn Porter and Errol Spence. Obviously he is up there, but I wouldn't know if he beat a top ATG with such certainty. He has 100% KOs at 147, is one of the smoothest switch hitters like Hagler, and doesn't have any noteworthy deficiencies. He is a tough task for anyone fighting this guy.real raw likes this.

If the WW's have more hand speed than him. They will likely beat him.
Like the great WW's, Sugar Ray Leonard? They can beat Spence most likely. Tommy Hearns would beat Spence. Guys with hand speed and can crack would probably give him an L.
Duran would give him hell. Wilfred Benitez would give him hell. He would probably beat both though but these are 50/50 fights.
I think Spence beats the rest though. He's strong has good power. That's enough to get around many of the rest of the great WW's. Whitaker might decision him but at the same time he could probably win the way Oscar did as well. So, I think post-Crawford that Spence's stock definitely took a hit but he's still one of the better WWs for history.

>>>>>>> Porter wins over Ugas/Danny
Spence wouldn't land sh.it against Bradley
Bud barely moved around and spence couldn't do sh.it
porter was coming at him walking forward to Spence's punches!!
Bradley boxes spence ears off to a comfortable UD win
