What's happened to Hunter, he handily beat Bakolie, i read something about contracts & he's vanished?

I agree. He can adopt very well. Would be interesting to see him vs Parker, Zhang, Hrgovic and DDD. Anderson should be easy job for him.

Absolutely no idea. I think the rematch with Bakole has been mentioned several times and he was scheduled to fight Hughie Fury on a Sky show in July 2022 but it got canned. Not sure either has fought professionally since. Last I heard Hunter was doing tag team boxing or something bizarre like that.

The problem with Sanchez is that he's not all that entertaining to watch. You can be a slick, technical boxer that's enjoyable to watch but that's not Frank in my opinion. I've seen him do just barely enough to win against extremely outclassed opposition. If you look on his resume, you may see a stoppage win against a C-level fighter but you don't see the multiple rounds of nothing that occurred prior to that stoppage.

He's not just risk averse, he's lazy in the ring. What makes it frustrating is that he's also very good. I think he beats a lot of the top tier guys but to who's benefit? His style doesn't put people in seats or glued to their screens, so he's just high risk with no real reward.

From a strictly style matchup, I'd love to see him in against someone like Martin Bakole...a big menacing fighter who will try to bring the beatdown.

I agree. Really boring but never the less he is dangerous.

Last I heard, he had signed with some lesser known promoter and was supposed to fight in the summer of 2023. That fight didn't happen and he was last seen in Mexico against a guy with a 14-24 record. I really liked Hunter, I first saw him fight at cruiserweight beating undefeated Isiah Thomas. After that he gave Usyk a competitive fight (for the first half at least). His career took a downward spiral after that draw against Povetkin.

I wonder how much the life and career of his father affected his outlook on the sport and how he's shuffled thru various promoters and bailed on fights. He seems willing to fight limited opponents and engage in the fringes of the sport (like the tag team boxing) to eke out a career.

Was about 15 years ago when Sanchez was 30 years old.
