If Wilder fought and KO'd Zhang, I would consider him back in the mix given the fact that guys like Ruiz do not even want to fight at all.

Wilder is a real fighter who accepts any challenge. So if Zhilei Zhang isn't scared to fight him, this would be a quick turnaround and the perfect fight to motivate Wilder, and get his timing and killer instinct back. Zhilei Zhang is a real threat.

A win against Zhang will get Wilder right back into the mix. As Wilder says: the Saudis love him, but they want the killer Wilder back...

Agreed, If Joshua can get himself into a position to fight for the title coming off so many losses , and then fighting Franklin, Helenis and Wallin then surely beating Zhang , a serious step up from the aformentioned , you'd say he's right back in the mix.

WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) is still very much a work in progress, says his co-manager Shelly Finkel. After last Saturday's world title win over Bermane Stiverne, the hype began growing for a fight between Wilder and WBO/WBA/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko.

We're still waiting for him to accept the challenge...Tyson and Joshua stepped up .. Finkel was Wladimir's manager so easy to arrange

You conveniently forgot to mention that Klitschko offered mandatory challenger Wilder step aside money so that Klitschko could fight WBC Stiverne for undisputed (ringtv link)
              https://www.ringtv.com/338333-deonta...for-10-million

Once Wilder won, Shelly Finkel had no intention of putting in an aging Klitschko vs a young and hungry Wilder. Klitschko was still his cash cow at the time...

Zhang would knock out this version of Wilder.

I would even say it's a better fight. Ngannou isn't on Zhang's level as a boxer, certainly not on Joshua's.

Fury embarrassed himself and his profession showing up in dreadful condition. That doesn't make Ngannou a boxer.

Wilder/Zhang is going to be a shootout between two of the hardest hitting fighters in the sport.

Not ticket sales wise. Not too many people know Zhang outside of the hardcore fans. The world knows AJ and Ngannou. No way would Wilder be a bigger or even equal fight as those. Not to mention, I'm not sure who the hell would risk their funds to watch Wilder again, live or from home.

A man that fought that way in his last fight does not deserve another big paycheck. In fact, they should slash his new paycheck 75% of what he previously made and let him prove he's back before anyone attempts to pay big bucks for him again.
