He’s a good fighter but he looks far better than he is because he’s fighting mediocre competition. When you don’t have to worry about punches coming back at you it changes things drastically.

Are WBA not making Canelo play by their rules? Morrell has had that belt since 2021.
I'm saying Morrell needs one high profile fight, even against one of the two big names that Benavidez fought would get him right in the short line to Canelo. That would secure it for him and raise his stock.

He should've been fighting 3-4 times a year from the start, and there wouldn't be all this talk about him not having fought a name fighter yet.
That way he cannot be denied forever. He can will himself into that position with maybe just one top name on his resume. He is a serious talent.

That is absolutely not what would have happened. If he'd fought more, he'd face the same criticism that Jaron Ennis does. People would be saying "32 fights and all he's got is a bunch of bums." Doesn't matter what he does. People are still going to hate on him and say he's not ready. The named fighters, heck, fighters in general, aren't rushing to sign to fight him. He can only fight the guys who sign the contracts and step in the ring. He does likely need to be aligned to a promotion that has more fighters for him, but it's not like 168 is a deep division to begin. You got guys like Berlanga and Munguia ranked in the top 10 by Ring. Ryder is #5. Even if he beat them, he's not going to get credit from anyone.

Pauli’s spoken against Canelo because years ago he got beat up by a young ginger in a sparring session.

Because although Canelo has built a hall of fame career for himself, if you're going to stay in the sport, you must remain a fighting champion.
You can't just pick, and choose your opponent's, you must satisfy the masses who crave the best fights available, in order to remain on top of the heap.
              That's right!

The winner would be both WBC & WBA mandatory/interim/regular.

It would be more difficult for Canelo to avoid that fight, and he might even take the opportunity to fight one, instead of possibly having to run the gauntlet of both at some point?

Benevidez doesn't seem like he wants the fight, or risking his place in the Canelo queue, though.

Fighters just need to be active and stop wasting time waiting around for a guy who can only fight one guy at a time.

Morrell will get a major fight, possibly for the title/unification by next year, if he doesn't get one by the end of this year.
Morrell has fought more experienced fighters than Ennis has at the start of their career's.
David Morrell won't have to wait as many years as Jaron Ennis has had to in order to get a major title fight.

I have been saying this for awhile now. Everybody knows it too but the haters choose to talk about numbers of fights, if reply to them to compare his resume vs their idols in their first 10-+11 fights they just ignore you. I'd think that finding opponents for this kid is very hard, maybe not in his first 5 fights. Actually ryder was supposed to fight him in his very 6th contest for the right to face ginger and after they saw him, hearns told everyone that ryder was moving up to lhw to face bivol, which we all know that was bs, he was just saving face.
