The media brings fighters up so high, so fast, and takes them down even faster when they lose. I remember when Canelo was having his own “Morrell” moment when the media was pushing Mayweather to fight him. Then he beat Trout and didn’t look amazing while doing and the same fans and media brought him down quick.

Look at the crickets for Andrade.

Same thing happening to Morrell, he just hasn’t fought anyone yet so his moment is still going strong. He hasn’t fought anyone but can beat everyone.

He’s at that phase. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Shouldn't he be in the Canelo sweepstakes? He is WBA regular champ. Canelo is full champ. That should make him mandatory at some point, like Dubois was for Usyk?

Are WBA not making Canelo play by their rules? Morrell has had that belt since 2021.

Malignaggi, might just be right, it appears that Canelo doesn't want to fight either Morrell, or Benavidez.
Due to the fact that they're both even taller than his last conqueror Bivol, and even worse they can both punch harder than Bivol.
What a double nightmare for Canelo to face, getting out boxed by both, and even worse possibly getting stopped via TKO on cut's or swelling, he's hard to KO.

Morrell just needs to be more active period, fighting twice a year when starting out your career in boxing is bull****.
Even though he's fought opponents with a lot more professional experience than he has himself.
He should've been fighting 3-4 times a year from the start, and there wouldn't be all this talk about him not having fought a name fighter yet.

That would be a great eliminator, and then Canelo would have to face the winner of that fight, or lose face with most of the boxing fans.
Because although Canelo has built a hall of fame career for himself, if you're going to stay in the sport, you must remain a fighting champion.
You can't just pick, and choose your opponent's, you must satisfy the masses who crave the best fights available, in order to remain on top of the heap.

Canelo's next fight should be Benavides but if Munguia wins they will go that route.
Morrell is going to have to wait or beat more notable opposition so he can continue to be highly ranked and the public demands the fight.

The demand for Canelo/Benavidez is really high at this point. One of the biggest fights that can be made at this point in boxing.

How do you know all that? It sounds to me like you've put on your unofficial promoters hat on again.
The truth is while Morrell is a very dangerous fighter, he's placed himself in this unenviable position of having only 10 fights in 5 years going on 6.
His management team, and promoter, have done an absolutely horrible job, not keeping him busy enough in the ring, or in the main stream media.
Giving other top rated fighters a ready made excuse for not fighting him, due to the fact's that he only has 10 fights, hasn't fought a name fighter, and isn't widely known.

Morrell is really good, and I want to see him succeed, but he needs some names, and a lot more activity on his resume.

He should take a page from Richard "Kiki" Torrez Jr. in the HW division and stay active and the names should follow.

If you're a BIG draw, and fight with PBC, then you fight PPV! If you're not a big draw, you don't headline PPVs! It's pretty simple! His Team may suck, but that's not Canelo's fault! Trust me, if you make money, Canelo will fight you! If not, you at least have to have a title! Unfortunately, the WBA doesn't have the balls to mandate Canelo to fight David Morrelll Jr.!
