Its gonna be funny when AJ doesnt look good either and potentially even gets KTFO and then people have to scramble for another excuse and another fighter to cling to who would apparently destroy Ngannou within 3 rounds instead of just accepting that punching people in the face for sport isnt actually some kind of rocket science.

Francis performance had a lot to do with Fury, that was like Otto Wallin Fury, Fury is not a good boxer he is huge with good legs, AJ is a whole different fight because of the fundamentals of boxing and AJ is in very good form right now I think you will see that Francis is indeed a MMA guy in this fight all because AJ is a quality technical boxer that can punch.
Hang on. You think AJ is a better boxer than Fury? lmao.Comment

AJ is not durable and doesn't have the heart when in trouble. He folds. He only looks good when things are going well in his momentum. If AJ loses by KO, it will be devastating for him because he gas to deal with a loss + making boxing look like a joke. It will destroy him mentally and he might be on suicide watch. He is that mentally fragile.Last edited by Lance98; 01-09-2024, 12:46 AM.Comment

Joshua will win easily.
Hilarious that a number of so called boxing fans seem to be rooting for the MMA guy to win. As if the sport wasn't embarrassed enough by Fury.Comment

The level of Joshua hate is pretty amazing. I mean seriously... not like I am a fan, but the level of disdain on this site for a guy who has consistently brought in fans, been active, and is trying to improve himself after a tough couple years is strange.
Ngannou deserves a TON of credit for making Fury work, but I do not think it is crazy to say the only differences in the way Fury approached the Ngannou fight versus how Joshua will is that Fury took it not one bit seriously and Joshua will. I mean does ANYONE truly think if Fury rematched Ngannou immediately and trained for it with focus he wouldn't have schooled him? Does ANYONE truly think Ngannou actually beats any top 10 rated boxer out there who trains for him like a legit threat and not a sideshow? Again this is not an anti-Ngannou thing or even that much of a pro-Joshua thing. It is just a simple common sense observation. Ngannou is a man, a true warrior who I am very interested to see box again. But I have never seen such a rush to celebrate someone for a loss in my life.
Joshua wins this going away. So would Zhang. So would Sanchez. So would Hrgovic. So would Parker. So would_______. Fill in the blank. They are all boxers who have trained for this their whole life. Silly to think Joshua or any other serious boxer wouldn't beat a rookie who just hasn't.Comment

They've got too much of their identity tied up with being perceived to be "winning" on this forum. Once one lets go of rivalries and emotional attachments to particular boxers, boxing becomes a lot more enjoyable. Some will get there, some never will.Comment

But I don't understand why boxing fans are underestimating Ngannou AGAIN.
The man has legitimate power, a solid chin, fairly decent handspeed, can switch, is PHENOMIMALLY strong inside, is in good shape and comes to win.
What's more he's got twice the experience now that he had vs Fury and importantly knows he can do the 10 rounds.
That alone puts him near the top of the heavyweight division currently. I'm sorry to say this but most current heavyweights are lazy slobs who aren't even elite athletes.
You can't talk about "boxing experience" and yeah sure there's something to be said for that but all the experience in the world means nothing if you are a talentless bum like most current heavies.
AJ should win, but I wouldn't bet my house on it, and I'm going to be all over that ridiculous 7/1 on Ngannou because those are the sort of odds I'd expect to get on Gerald Washington vs AJ and Ngannou is a lot more dangerous than that.Last edited by Atypicalbrit; 01-09-2024, 02:00 AM.Comment

Francis is braver, has stronger chin and punches hard enough, so I don't see it as impossible to knock out Joshua. True, AJ is the better boxer and possesses punching power, but he lacks the other fundamentals - heart and chin. Plus, Francis is one of the most roided fighters ever, not that I believe he will fail a doping test, but the amount of alcohol Fury took in his life equals the amount of PEDs Francis did.
Anyway, I hope Francis rids boxing of this dosser because this will make Eddie more pathetic. It is the combination of an overhyped mental midget and an impudent MF that is unbearable. AJ was a nicer and more humble guy in his early years, rather a likeable person, but ended differently.Comment

Joshua IS a better technical boxer than Fury from a textbook perspective.
But having better technique doesn't make you a better fighter.
Fury is somewhat sloppy, unorthodox, but those can be strengths. Fury also has better stamina and is more of a natural fighter. He's better at getting rough in the trenches and gutting out wins in hard fights. Fury has the intangibles that AJ doesn't have.
Against Ngannou you could well see AJ do better, because stylistically Ngannou wasn't going for any of Fury's weird unorthodox ****.
In a way I think Ngannou being a novice actually helped him against Fury because he didn't get trapped thinking about what he was going to do to counter fury, instead he just concentrated on his own, basic but effective gameplan.
I envision Ngannou will struggle more vs AJ's cleaner, sharper work because his success from fury came from not biting on feints, this meant fury had to lead off and he wasn't in shape to do that and clearly hadn't trained for it so he had to fall back on a plan B.
AJ won't be feinting, he will be leading and he will be sharp and connect, and idk what Ngannou does when AJ starts landing clean Shots.
