Also, Weeks was standing behind Rolly when he stopped it.

To everyone saying he is avoiding the match with Haney and made Oscar look clueless and just made himself look like a clown who is scared and just used Haney to get in the headlines, I 100% agree with you.

To everyone saying this is the better business move, where he has a better path to a belt, better cut of a good payday, and puts himself in better position for future paydays I also 100% agree with you.

2 things can be true at once. This is not an "either-or" kind of situation. He does look like he is scared of the talented Haney and that he hung GBP out to twist in the wind by demanding it behind closed doors than coming out wanting another fight in social media. But if this Romero fight happens it is a better dollar and sense move for his 2024. All I know is that no matter who Garcia signs to fight next I am cheering for the other guy.

The best outcome is to have Rolly KO Ryan and then Ryan drifts out of boxing.

My take on this is Haney probably said you don't have a belt so you don't get paid as much. Garcia probably had a fit cause he thinks he's the draw, which he is. So with an easier win against Rolly and getting a belt, should he win, that problem is fixed. Now Haney must find a fighter that will draw...good luck there. Garcia-Romero will be a blast of trash talk.

this will be ryans career from now on, fight B/C level fighters whilst trashing the top fighters on twitter.... not buying this BS of 'beating rolly puts him in a better position for the haney fight' he just wants an easier nights work nothing more nothing less , he wont be fighting haney afterwards isnt good for his 'brand' to get a 12 round beating

Yeah, I'm not saying Barrosos was guaranteed to win, but it was very likely he would have. That was as corrupt a "fight" as any.

In early december cryin was asked about potential opponents he said

"Oh, yeah, for sure [I want the fight]," Garcia said when asked about taking on the winner of Devin Haney vs. Regis Prograis. "You know, I want to become a champion. So, that's my goal."

                and

"I want Rolly," he said. "I feel like it's a fun fight. He's a great, aggressive, crazy dude. Lead-up would be crazy. I want that, you know. [The] dude has the title, technically. But yeah, let's do it."

"I don't know if you have a real injury or not, but he'll answer."

cryin wants all, he just couldnt make up his mind, all roads lead to cryin, he might have tried rolly first, rolly said i want major $$$$ so cryin has a nice devious plan, i will make rolly sweat a bit, goes to haney & pretends to arrange a fight, rolly says ok i will agree to the deal, who knows

I don't ever wanna hear cRyans fanboys again. I hope DLH sues FMJ, cause you know that's why Garcia backed out of the negotiations like a b!tch. If I'm DLH I put that kid on ice, and either make him buy his way out or just teach his @ss a lesson

Garcia KO's Rolly pretty easily, picks up a belt and then can fight Haney or whomever. He also likely gets a better percentage against Rolly as Haney and Haney's dad believe that he is the new Floyd and almost certainly want 50/50 of the money, which Ryan is 90% responsible for bringing in. I'm sure Garcia saw Haney's demands and laughed.

                      Smart move.
Unfortunately Garcia will self-implode his career before this so-called brilliant “grand plan” ever comes to fruition. Announcing you’re a new father in one post and announcing you’re divorcing your wife in the very next post is not exactly stable genius stuff, so I doubt he’ll have the personal or professional discipline necessary in the future. As far as PPVs, what makes you think everyone will rush to pay for another Garcia PPV after that “I’ll get to my feet at 11” quit job he pulled against Tank? He fooled a lot of people once, but only the gullible will fork out money twice for a hype job who doesn’t back up his big talk.

Haney will have the last laugh - he’s pretty much got a future Saudi fight in the bank. He should just move on and let Garcia make a fool of himself.
