As shot as Wilder looks, I think this is a better style for him than Parker.

If Wilder has any ability to pull the trigger anymore, he's going to find it much easier to do vs Zhang who is pretty flat footed and slow footed. Wilder's best attributes were closing the range fast vs static targets and landing a quick right hand. Plus the straight right is the best shot vs a Southpaw.

With all that said, he looks pretty much gun shy anyway.

I reckon your analysis is dead right. Except I don't know that we've seen Wilder become gun shy... he was always pretty gun shy until he got his one shot away. It was always the case that one night he wasn't going to get that shot away and he'd look terrible - because he looked terrible for 99% of his fights anyway.

Against Zhang he'll get looks. There will be opportunities for him to **** Zhang.

If he can't at least pull the trigger against Zhang then I'll acknowledge a faded fighter. But I still can't acknowledge it from the Parker fight - that was just standard Wilder but in against a decent boxer.

I reckon Wilder v Zhang is 50/50 and always would have been.
