The kid has a good attitude but I just don't think he has the talent. Not his fault that the media tries to shove him down the public's throat because of his name. I don't begrudge him for pursuing his career but he'll never even live up to what his aunt Laila did in the ring, let alone his grandfather.

Well said man. Poor guy....it's painful to watch him put on cards his talent does not justify, even though he is doing his best. The Hatton kid is comparable on the british scene
That’ll definitely be the best approach; just build up your experience with activity, doing so will of course be against unrecognizable random guys. Not every outing has to be an event. That’s what TR trying to do.
He should take the Jake Paul payday big fight for such & based upon the eye test n late start ali won't be a legit contender @ best he will be a guy a contender needs to put a name on a resume

He respects fighting too much. Everyone knows his grandfather and aunt but his brother Biaggio is also an amateur MMA fighter, his uncle is former Bellator MMA fighter Kevin Casey, his great uncle Rahman (Muhammad's brother) was a journeyman heavyweight pro boxer, his grandmother is a third degree Karate black belt. He was raised in a culture of combat sports. He's not in it for the money, he wants to have a legitimate run in the sport and give it an honest try just to see how far he can go. It's an honorable mindset, even if he probably doesn't have the talent to go very far.
We all need to be honest here....the dude should not use the name Ali at all. If you are a serious fighter, go by Nico Walsh, go through the same process everyone else does, make a name for yourself, and the fact that your grandpa was one of the best fighters ever becomes an interesting fact and a touchstone for people.
This dude has all the skill of a guy who does a boxing class at the gym. He is awful. He mean mugs and acts the part, which is embarrassing because he has no talent. And every fight they play up the Ali angle, show his mom acting like she is worried to death. Actually good boxers are cut off these cards because the dude's name is Ali. It isn't just embarrassing, it is offensive. If he wanted to make a legitimate run he would earn his way onto televised cards, but he gladly uses his name to get on them. Ridiculous.
And the dude has the nerve to talk about legacy and his grandpa. If he cared about Muhammed's legacy he would not want to look ****ty against F grade fighters with the name Ali on his back on tv.
He shouldn't cross over fight because any decent MMA striker would possibly render him comatose.

Nico Ali Walsh is his name. He shouldn't have to hide from that. Muhammad is not the only fighter in their family and they had varying levels of success:
Rahman Ali (Muhammad's brother, Nico's granduncle) was a journeyman pro heavyweight boxer.
Laila Ali (Muhammad's daughter, Nico's aunt) is in the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
Khalilah Ali (Muhammad's ex-wife, Nico's grandmother) is a third degree black belt in Karate
Biaggio Ali Walsh (Muhammad's grandson, Nico's brother) is an amateur MMA fighter who will likely turn pro soon with PFL/Bellator
Kevin Casey (Muhammad's son-in-law, Nico's uncle) is a former Bellator MMA fighter
He doesn't have to live up to your standards. He has his own idea of what it means to live up to his family's legacy.
