Zhang isn't that good. He got sent to hospital by Forrest lol. He had a close fight with an under prepared Hrgovic who isn't that great either.

I heard Eddie Hearn talking about this in an IFL interview yesterday. He said he'd been on the phone with Turki Alashikh all morning talking about possible match-ups for Matchroom fighters on the 2 upcoming Riyadh cards. He wouldn't be specific, of course, but it seems like AJ will be fighting on the March card and the opponent will be whoever Turki chooses for him.

AJ dropped and beat Zhang in the 2012 Olympics. I think he would do the same thing again if they meet as pros. Zhang is dangerous, of course, but AJ would be much more difficult to catch clean than Joe Joyce was.

Zhang has good timing, good positional awareness and he can hit very hard with no tells. But he is much slower moving than AJ and AJ has learned a lot about fighting southpaws in his last few fights.

I would strongly favour AJ to beat Zhang now.

I was saying this about Joyce forever. Every time people keep picking a fighter to win because “he has the strongest beard in boxing…” I tell them to wait. It’s only a matter of time. Same thing happened to Makmhudov last weekend. No head movement in the HW division is a recipe for a short career.

If Fish Eyes is the main player I would assume Joyce & Zhang would be on the card since neither fought on the last 2 in SA. Joyce did say a fight at home would be nice before fighting in SA so we will soon see what the plan is with him.

Everybody is trying to guess the card I think naturally we all do. Would it be the same fighters as last week, as modern day fighters don't fight so often but with Saudis putting up big money who knows.

The first fight that came to mind was Joshua v Hrgovic for the IBF title as everyone expecting Fury Ussyk winner to be stripped but both are managed by Hearn so unless they doing another show together it wouldnt be.

It's probably Dubois v Parker and I expect Joyce to feature against who is anyone's guess and Zhang v who knows. We will wait and see.

Both Zhang and Joyce are Olympic silver medalists, Joyce being robbed of the gold.

Zhang had a serious medical condition in the Forest fight and was rushed to the hospital after the fight. He was diagnosed with kidney failure, liver damage, anemia and severe dehydration.

He dropped Forest 3 times and played with him in the early rounds. You can clearly see something was seriously wrong with him in the later rounds, he looked like he's about to have a heart attack.

Joyce found his boogeyman in Zhang, it was a terrible matchup. I don't see anyone else doing to Joyce what Zhang did to him.

Wilder just got completely dominated by Parker who got destroyed by Joyce and Fury wanted nothing to do with Zhang.

And let's not forget Zhang is 40 and Joyce is 38.

You can't do it fight after fight without your punch resistance eventually giving way.

I started noticing by the time he was fighting Takam and Hammer that their consistant landing punched would stun him slightly but they just didn't have the real power behind them, but you could see he can't just keep doing that.

Joyce was fresher when he fought Dubois and took a lot of heavy shots. I believe the Joyce that fought Zhang wouldn't have stood up the shots Dubois was landing. The Dubois fight and the fights after where he was getting nailed over and over is what ruined Joyce. Zhang was just the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. I think any accurate big puncher probably does the same to joyce on those nights.
