Morell has done absolutely nothing to deserve a Canelo shot besides beat overmatched opponents and avoid drug testing

Morrell hasn’t done anything to deserve a Benavidez fight let alone canelo, and to be clear in regards to why I feel that way. It’s simple, Benavidez is Canelos top opponent and he has earned that title with what he has accomplished in the ring. Props to Team Benavidez. Team Morrel know this we all know Benavidez should be next for canelo, so they want the shot vs the man that’s lined up to fight the man and with that the big money fight… it don’t work like that, Morrel hasn’t beaten the level of opponents and the amount of level of opponents to be able to say that he deserves to fight for the right to be Canelos next big fight. Because that’s what anyone that fights David Benavidez would essentially be fighting for, to get in that canelo lottery position. Benavidez is already there, Morrel, you got a ways to go

I realise nothing has been announced but I don't think Benavidez is getting Canelo in may.

So why not fight Morrell next?

A win sees Benavidez become mandatory with two of the sanctioning orgs and eliminates any other realistic candidate at 168 for Canelos last fight on his present agreement with pbc.

You are off base and making excuses for why Benavidez shouldn't fight Morrell. First off, Canelo will not fight Benavidez anytime soon, if ever, so who should Benavidez fight next? Forget that "he hasn't done anything to deserve a Benavidez fight." If you consider yourself the best in the division, and the money man won't fight you, then fight the next best thing in your division, especially if he's calling you out. Morrell may think that beating Benavidez (which I think he will) will line him up for Canelo, but Canelo won't fight him either. So the next best rivalry at 168 would be Benavidez vs. Morrell. If Benavidez don't fight him, he's ducking.

Benavidez already there, he already earned the canelo fight and the proof is that it’s the fight most people want canelo to take, regardless it Canelo fights him next or in a year don’t matter it’s the position he earned through years and accomplishments in the ring.
