Benavidez fights in the unnecessary 168lb division. Had he been around in the 80s he would have been either boiling down to 160 and getting knocked out by Hagler or getting schooled at 175 by Michael Spinks.

Historical lesson aside, what does "bigger fight" have to do with anything? If Benavidez can't fight Canelo next then what's "bigger", Morrell or Beterbiev? Also, you're being hypocritical by saying Morrell has to "earn" a fight with your idol.

unnecessary division? You mean one of the hottest divisions in the sport today with the biggest fight in the world right in front of him?

Benavidez just fought 2 risky fights vs elite opponents in atow and now he has to keep fighting risky fights while the supposed greatest fighter of his era is fighting cherry pick after cherry pick? but I am the hypocrite? Morrell has not even fought a single top 10 fighter but he deserves to fight for an eliminator for undisputed?

Yes, all the super/junior divisions are unnecessary. It's bad enough having (at least) four belts per weight class, never mind all these ridiculous divisions.

I want to see Canelo - Benavidez next and will be disappointed if it doesn't happen. I'm reaching Canelo fatigue at this point, he's been around too long. With that said, if it doesn't happen then Benavidez and Morell are 1 and 4 with the TBRB so it's a reasonable fight to demand.

Cool not sure what this has to do with the reality today where it does exist?

So you want Benavidez to take a risky fight for basically zero reward? Since when does any fighter ever do something so damn ******?

You missed the point. Social media speculation has zero credibility.

I want the best possible fights made across boxing. I'll leave the dodging and manoeuvring justifications to managers, promoters and fanboys. If Benavidez can't face Canelo next he should fight someone in the TBRB top ten.

They fought for the money and to prove who the best was. They have big egos and wanted to be remembered. Don't ask me again if is hard to understand, no it is not, new fans don't want yo see their idols in any fight that are not the favorites by a mile, they prefer to see the ginger fight the yildrim and ryders of the world instead of benavidez. Deserving has nothing to do with that, your narrative doesn't hold any water because is selective.

Isn't that what you want Canelo to do by fighting Benavidez?

Again, we will have to agree to disagree.
