There should be a rule that a fighter who only fought once over the course of the year cannot win FOTY.
To me, it's disrespectful to not recognize the sacrifice Inoue made to get it in this year (diet/camp/in-ring), whilst making history. It's gotta be him.Damn Wicked likes this.

It's probably the best win of 2023 but the dude still needed a few more fights.
Had Crawford beat Spence and Boots back to back, he'd be foty.

Before facing Crawford, Spence had looked dominant against credible opposition; it isn't as if Crawford was his first step-up in competition.
Fans like to nit pic certain situations to make their point look good but you have to look at the body of work overall.

When Crawford fought Jeff ‘The Hornet’ Horn, he (Horn) was listed as #5 P4P. NSB discredited him - meaning Crawford at that time DIDN’T beat a top fighter, yet he was regarded as having done so.
So what’s changed?
I’ll answer that.
Spence, as good as he is, was NEVER a P4P level and damn sure not Top 5 even if.
Nobody would ever say that Spence beats Usyk, all weights equal. Come on.
