  • Tyson Fury: Change My Mind

Tyson Fury had two career peaks: when he beat a declining Wladimir Klitschko, and then his second peak around the second Wilder fight. He was never on the level of the ATG’s of old, but he was very, very good at his peaks. He already looked somewhat poor to me in the third Wilder fight (very slow and lumbering, left his head on a line and seemed lazy, won mostly by out lasting Wilder than anything else). He looked terrible in the Nagganou fight. I think he was always an overachiever, as was Wilder. I think Wilder will fight a few more times, spark out a few more big slow guys and maybe lose a couple more times and then retire to his country cabin and enjoy swimming all day and going on his vision quests. As for Fury, I think he will be on the receiving end of what he did to Klitschko whenever he fights Usyk (barring the ever-possible KO punch that can always happen in the HW division). After that, I hope I’m wrong, but with his ego I doubt he will stay in the sport after he loses. Most likely, he will go to the WWE or something like that.

lets see if he can figure out the small determined ukranian dosser & if he can mr AJ will be in line as long as he doesnt do something silly i suppose

both good fights & good luck to them all

ngannou was a headscratcher, well done to ngannou on doing what he did, would really like to see him in with someone else tho to really assess him but thats not looking likely at the moment, looks likes hes waiting for fury and fury only

It's hard to get a bead on fighters who are very very selective choosing opponents.

If fury fights who he's supposed to and beats who hes supposed to, fury will be to p 5 ATG. But he must best usyk, josh, zhang and frank sanchez

As for the names you mentioned: I like Usyk but I think sometimes we forget how old he is. He’s also fought in a war and he’s got that 1000-yard stare now. Not 100% sure where he’s at mentally and I feel like he could also decline physically like Canelo is now. The DDD fight left me uncertain either way. He may still be at the tail end of his peak.
I like Joshua a lot, but he’s a bit of an enigma. He’ll sometimes look great (like he just did against Wallin), but he also has that problem with being gunshy and tentative. Never sure which version will show up.
Zhang is one I wish had started his career earlier. I’m not sure how good he is, but I believe he has close to Wilder-level power. Maybe more like a HW Beterbiev, throwing short and midrange punches that explode like TNT. But he’s the oldest one of them all.
Sanchez boxes beautifully. I like pure boxers like that. I’d like to see how he’d do against Wilder.

I like him. I wish he’d fight Wilder, he seemed to express some interest

It seems to be the current modus operandi. I think it’s the Mayweather business style (I’m not a Mayweather hater, either). Just trying to make & market the best fights from a business standpoint first, trying to stay undefeated, and going for legacy second to those things.

Fury and Mayweather are cut from the same cloth in terms of their business acumen, and trying to be the heel, I think

              Mayweather was more talented though
Both seem ridiculously full of themselves but also can seem rather likable in someways

I tend to best like the old school fighters like Ali and Hagler who could care less about the business side of things and just go for broke on the legacy side…

the funniest thing is all the people talking about his skills. LMFAO

first time he fights a guy his own size in his first pro boxing match.

that MMA amateur was legit more skilled than his big clumsy ass. His success is entirely based on his size.

don't talk to me about Fury's skills ever again. A UFC guy in his first boxing match had better offense and defense than the Gypsy bum

                  - - All good and well, but Deyonce and Blubber can’t draw flies and not even the MMA supported Francis vs Blubber.
