They dont cone more credible than Parker. The guy who beat the guy AJ was 'supposedly' contracted to fight next.
Credibility has nothing to do with it. The Saudis wanted AJ vs Wilder because that was the fight that fans all over the world were clamouring to see.

Are fans all over the world now clamouring to see AJ fight Parker again? If so, they are clamouring very quietly - apart from you, of course.

    • The rivers of pish being spouted in here are comical.

AJ is ducking Parker, Joyce and Zhang.

He’s so poor apparently, it’s a head scratcher why he’s held to such a high standard.

It was DAZN who made that offer to Wilder, not Hearn.

If you cast your mind back to the days when DAZN were throwing more money around than Turki Alalshikh on acid, Wilder was saying he wouldn't be part of any deal involving Eddie Hearn because Eddie was a white devil and his dad was a slave trader, or some such ridiculous nonsense. So the CEO of DAZN stepped in and offered Wilder his own deal with them. Hearn's only involvement was to guarantee that AJ would fight Wilder if Deontay accepted the deal.

And if the Saudis offer him huge money to fight one of them next instead of Wilder, he will be ducking the other two .. and Hrgovic.

            its an odd deal

3 fights and 2 with AJ for 100 mil

thats not a normal structured deal, there is no clarity on how much AJ is getting paid either

i also remember at one point eddie was saying wilder had to fight stumble bum to get the AJ fight, its all just to weird for me im afraid

            • Just glad that Wilder hasn’t lost his delusional logic
I guess that’s a good thing for comedic reasons

The WBC had ordered Wilder to fight his mando, Breazeale.

The offer DAZN made to him was $20million for Breazeale then $40million each for 2 fights with AJ, both in the US. The $40million for the rematch was guaranteed, whatever the outcome of the first fight.

AJ has never had a contract with DAZN, his contract was with Matchroom, so his fee would have been negotiated separately by Hearn. This was no different than the deals that Canelo and GGG had with DAZN. They were guaranteed X amount for each fight, the opponents fee was negotiated by their own promoter.

                  its still odd i think

i mean what would have happened if wilder had somehow lost to brazeale?

AJ lost to ruiz so what could that have done to the contract as well?

If i was wilder i would have wanted to know what AJ was getting for my fights, i cant see that sitting too well, i mean as far as i can remember wilder was getting offered flat fees etc for quite a long while and the fight was not getting done, this seems a good offer on paper and if everything panned out correctly it would have been good for wilder but for such huge fights total clarity would have been better upfront i would have thought and not a 3 fight deal either

Credibility has everything to do with it. The Sauds could have had AJ v Wilder but AJ ducked him.

Truth is, fans arent clamouring to see AJ at all and i doubt the Sauds wiil want to stump up to see him destroy another sparring partner

That Wallin fight should never even have been the headliner but fragile insecure Joshua needs to be coddled, so there we go.

AJ had yet to have his day of reckoning but its coming. He cant duck all the contenders forever.

No wait, yes he probably can and if he could he would.

According to the DAZN CEO, Wilder was offered the option of only signing for one fight at a time.

The guarantees were contingent on neither guy losing before they fought each other.

As for Wilder being told what AJ would be paid for fighting him, I agreed with what Hearn said about that at the time. Wilder's team insisted that Eddie should not be involved in Deontay's deal in any way and should not be present during their meeting with the DAZN reps. It made no sense to make stipulations like that, excluding Hearn from the meeting, then ask questions about Eddie's business with DAZN. Because DAZN don't actually pay AJ anything, they pay his promoter, Hearn, and Eddie then pays AJ.

It was a similar kind of situation to the Saudi fights between Fury and Usyk - there was no purse split to negotiate or argue about, because each fighter was offered his own individual deal.
