Yes, according to that rumor Ioka offer was for one million, which is half of the career high pay of 2 million which he made against Choco III. What you are not considering is that outside against Choco, Estrada has never made over a million for a fight. People tend to forget these days but Chocolatito is still by far the absolute biggest cash cow in the 115 and below department in the last decade, a weight class where even major title bouts linger around the lower six digits.

For reference during Estrada-SSR 2 match where he got a belt in 115 for the first time in 2018, Estrada is said to have made $100k and SSR $250k. Estrada-Cuadras II, the last match Estrada had prior to Choco II is said to have gotten him $300k in 2020. For Choco II I don't have a source for how much Estrada made, but it is confirmed that Choco got the first ever over $1mil pay overall at 115 in the history of boxing, so Estrada most definitely made less than a million in 2021. The Argi Cortes match in Mexico the most recent non-Choco match he has had in 2022, he is said to have made about $400k. Then the Choco III occurred with Estrada being the A-side this time, that got him career high $2 mil including PPV bonus. However with Choco having absolutely zero interest to have a 4th match with him, literally no one was left in 115 that could've offered Estrada more than $1 mil overall.

IF the Saudis are indeed interested in putting Bam-Estrada on the undercard sometime in March (given Bam just fought I think anything earlier is unrealistic) it could work out where Estrada could possibly make $2mil or above and I'd love to see it happen. The big question is are they interested in it? I don't track who the Saudis made offers to so I truly don't know, but has there been any smoke from the Saudis to be willing to go outside the heavier weight classes and dip into the lighter classes? And if they do, are they willing to pay Estrada more than what they paid Bivol at the DoR undercard, $1.9mil?

I am not a fan of Hearn but for the sake of this match happening, I sure hope he can milk it from the Saudis because I don't see him willing to dish out $2mil to Estrada to fight in the US against Bam.

Is 2 more than 2? Yes or no? Canelo sent a lowball offer to Bivol knowing he wouldn’t accept that insult. Straight up duck.

Why don’t you answer the question? Is it because you don’t like the answer?

Not answering the question still? Ok, I accept your surrender.

Just take your L and move on.

Anyway…I sure hope we get to see Bam vs Estrada next.

The bolded happening next, preferably in the first half of 2024 will make Estrada taking all of 2023 off well worth the wait. Forget Ioka, he's getting old and is a boring fighter anyway. I'd also be fine with Estrada fighting one of the 118 beltholders as well.

If Estrada somehow decides to fight Martinez or Ioka for an unification in 115 after all instead of Bam next, it will be somewhat less exciting but still better late than nothing.

If Estrada ends up taking a non-title tuneup fight in 118 next against an opponent no one is interested in seeing him fight for chump change, I'd say he probably miscalculated his own value and ended up shooting himself in the foot.

I doubt it will come to that but if Estrada somehow goes another year without a fight, I'd consider him a retired boxer who has selfishly held the belt he wasn't willing to defend a hostage for two years after he made his retirement fund with Choco III.

Why are you demanding yes or no answers when you can't give them yourself?
