The best result would be for him to retire so punters can wax lyrical about how prime Wilder was the hardest hitting champion ever who would have destroyed every other champ by knockout.

He's at serious risk of becoming the body on his own record otherwise.

No he needs to come back and fight some top-10 guys so we can find out exactly he good he is. Fury is doing the same thing - only fought two top-10 fighters in 8 years now

Boxing is such a crooked sport. My biggest surprise of the night was that the boxing judges didn't declare Wilder - who lost every round - the winner.

Some days ago I wrote that Parker was the best opponent that wilder ever met, apart for Fury. This was evident in the match.

You can say that Parker was above his average, but he totally dominated.

Now I'd like a rematch with AJ but I doubt this will ever happen since Parker almost scored the upset back then, already.

Parker almost scored the upset? What???? He was dominated from start to finish. At no point did he look like winning. He disengaged and ran from AJ. All AJ had to do was stay in control of the distance and stay on top of him. He didn't need to get out of 1st gear. But i would love it if you could point out the part in the fight where he nearly won. Love it.

Agreed that Parker did well. But I did think Wilder looked way worse than normal. Don't forget almost no one has been able to hit Fury - but Wilder managed it a ton of times and put him down too. He even landed that 3 punch combo on Fury that put Fury down first fight after putting a read on where Fury moves his head. I expect Wilder to be a lot better next time. He will probably throw caution to the wind. One thing I was impressed with was Wilder's chin. He's a skinny guy but he took some hard shots from Parker with ease. Definitely got exposed a bit though.

If everyone judged Wlad on his punch-shy performance against Fury he would be a terrible fighter. But next fight against AJ he put caution to the wind and went for it. Sometimes it takes a loss to take that pressure off

Fury has always been open to overhand rights, even early in his career. Not sure where the elusive defensive master reputation has come from. He’s surprisingly slick for his size, but most opponents have no trouble finding him a few times in each fight.
