  • Comments Thread For: Ellis Zorro: Honestly, Against Opetaia I Will Need Everything That I Can Do

Ellis Zorro is well aware of the gargantuan task at hand. Oddsmakers have the unbeaten Brit as much as a +1000 underdog to dethrone lineal cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia this Saturday at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The fight represents a quantum leap in competition for the 31-year-old Zorro, who knows it will take more than the best he's previously offered to pull off the feat.

For the 2nd time in a row, Opoteia, who has a decent case to be the best Cruiser in this world, will fight a British boxer who is not even best in Britain and who has never fought at Euro let alone World standard. Why? What does anyone think is going to happen?

The check will clear. That is all anyone can expect out of this. Opetaia can read the landscape. Being the best at CW right now is not the same it was about 4 years ago. There is not a ton of big money opportunities. He was offered a chance to make coin. The titles and other challengers will still be out there in 2024. This payday may not be.

He wins in a walk over KO inside of 6 rounds. The Night of Champions gets a fun KO on the undercard, Opetaia gets a nice paycheck and hopefully goes on to rematch Briedis next as a better known name. Win/win.
