The handlers of David Morrell Jr. thought they had a deal in place to fight David Benavidez in November. According to Luis DeCubas Sr. - the chief operating officer for Warriors Boxing, Morrell's promoter - Benavidez was supposed to enter the ring after Morrell demolished Yamaguchi Falcao on April 22 to announce that he would meet Morrell next. That didn't happen, of course, and Benavidez battled another undefeated southpaw, Demetrius Andrade, in his following fight.

DeCubas, the WBA agent and confidante, wants some cash. His main boy Lara, current WBA MW champion, didn't get to have his $1 million yearly pension this year.

Now that you mention Berlanga in regards to Morrell, that’d be a good fight to see who really about it, I suspect morrell

Decubas is just doing his job keeping Morrels name out there since his opponents names don’t do much for his career, next best thing is to run your mouth. Good managing by Decubas but, I see through the phuckery… iykyk

I'm all for a good matchup (and Morrell v Benavidez is one), but taking on Morrell Jr before Canelo could end up being the most epic management blunder of the decade. I don't think David is scared, but his management team is nowhere near ****** enough to do that.

So if Morrell doesn't have enough experience other fighters should not be worried. But they can see he's no slouch. Morrell is calling out Ben. & Canelo so he is confident.
