He can hang at 126, probably even win a world title.

The bouts will be much more competitive though...

        He sure was, but "unknown"??

That was Oguni, the former IBF Champion, who beat Jonathan Guzman!

Oguni is also 35 now and hadn't done much since his loss to Iwasa in 2017. If Casimero wanted to appeal for a fight with Inoue he should've easily destroyed him.

By the way, a fun timeline of the IBF belt:
Dec 2016 Oguni defeats Guzman to win IBF belt.
Sep 2017 Iwasa defeats Oguni for the IBF belt.
Aug 2018 Doheny defeats Iwasa for the IBF belt.
April 2019 Roman defeats Doheny in an unification match and unify WBA/IBF belts.
Dec 2019 Iwasa defeats Tapales for vacant interim IBF belt.
Jan 2020 MJ defeats Roman to win WBA/IBF belts.
April 2021 MJ defeats interim IBF champion Iwasa to "re-unify" IBF belt .
April 2023 Tapales defeats MJ for WBA/IBF belts.

So MJ lost to Tapales who lost to Iwasa who lost to MJ.

            Haha!
This timeline is fun to look at.

Nobody has easily destroyed Oguni, ever -- and if you watch Casimero's last two
fights, it doesn't look like he's capable of easily destroying anyone at the top level
(even a 35 year old ex-champ who hasn't been that active).

Unfortunately Casimero's time probably has passed. I didn't expect Casimero to destroy Oguni anyway but meant more that to prove that he was still worthy of a Inoue payday, Casimero needed to show that he is able to destroy or atleast dominate an inactive former champ and he failed at it.

I think Inoue staying at 122 is the right move. This way, he could clean out the division and wait for Nakatani.

I hear you. It would have been something to see the Casimero who flattened Tete face off with Inoue.

Reckon if he could find a way to get back into shape, he could still make some waves.
But the Casimero we're seeing now -- wouldn't fancy him to beat anyone in the top 30
if it goes past the 3rd round.
