Bud doesn't need Ennis. Ennis is trying to jump to the front of the line without putting in the same work Bud has already. I agree with Bud looking for "mega" matchups before he retires and can still win, rather than face a young gun who has the potential to win. I'm not saying that Bud loses this, but it's a tougher matchup for less reward than facing another "tough" matchup for greater reward. At the end of the day, it's up to Bud to decide. He's put in the work.
