I think a lot of people forget how good Ward was back in the Super Six tournament.

The Ward that fought Kovalev, wasn’t that same guy, he’d definitely lost half a step but still had the ring smarts to make up for it.

The number one boogieman in the division was Kovalev. That's not even debatable.

Yes, he was 168 guy. Which makes me hard to believe he would beat two unbeaten 175 champs.

Ward was going to retire after the first kovalev fight and fought 1 more time just to beat kovalev more clearly.

Ward was always big enough for 175. If it wasn’t for all the injuries and inactivity, he would’ve moved up a lot sooner I think.

No, that's crazy. You can't expect the current crop to know who the next crop will be. Is Bivol ducking some unknown fighter who'll be big **** years after Bivol is retired? Yeah, Ward didn't either.

Also daggum is among the dumbest ****ers here. Don't know why y'all waste your time on that idiot. Hell, I do not understand why you guys waste your time with any moron whose entire posting history is nothing but their opinions. Oh what great insight derived from the opinions formed by other peoples' work ****ing useless

Yes, but he was on the decline and Ward beat him. After that, he didn't want to continue his run in the LHW division.

Ward went against the bet 175 fighter at the time. Bivol and Beterbiev where no where at that level yet.

Watch Ward's documentary on Showtime and he was offered a ton of money to sign a multi fight contract with HBO and he didn't. He explains the reasons and has not come back from his retirement.

I'm a big beterbiev fan but he and bivol were irrelevant at the time. the fight was ward vs stevenson for undisputed. again, with the haymon rocnation thing, could the fight even be made or ward retired to get out of the fight? you know what the ward haters are going to say.

Wart was so insanely jealous of the $$$ l'l floydy flyswatter was making offered him a title shot at his 168 lb belts at a 162lb catchweight, yet wouldn't drop to 164lb for archslugger Golovkin.

So jealous of Canelo $$$ that he went into training before realizing he shot now, so trained Plant in his place.
