Berbetiev probably wouldn’t have fought him, he turned down the Kovalev fight twice! I don’t think his handlers were very confident at the time

They were in a similar situation as Morrell is now on getting on a potential Canelo fight imo. They looked the part, but hadn’t really earned a shot at the top guy, think they were both like 10-0 when Ward retired.

It doesn't matter that Stevenson ducked Beterbiev. He KO'd Dawson to win the WBC LHW crown in 2013 and was going strong until he drew vs Jack in 2018. Ward beat an arguably declining Kovalev in 2016 and 2017, but he felt the power of a former LHW champ. He didn't want the smoke of a prime top, LHW like Stevenson or Gvozdyk, who was making noise in the division and to this day has only lost to Beterbiev. The guy damn near killed Stevenson a little more than a year after Ward retired, and I bet Andre was glad that he got out before facing him.

Ward is about Beterbiev`s age. If he wants to run his mouth, he can fight Artur.

Prime Ward would’ve beaten both IMO, shame they never fought, but it was never really realistic.
Based on what? he ****** at 175. Ward was a dirty 168 animal, but Bivol and Beterbiev never existed at that weight.

He turned down the Kovi fight once and that was very early in his career ( he was offered the fight after his 6th fight when he defeated Tavoris Cloud , who was highly regarded )
Also , Kovi feared Stevenson and dodged like he would a bullet
i noticed you calling out a poster for his post saying that he’s getting emotional over Ward or Floyd
Aren’t you doing the same thing by bringing chit up that is 10 years old ?
Just asking and yes , lmfao

Ward probably didn't like the landscape forming. Saw how difficult legit 175 guys were and was fortunate to get out of there with dubious wins.

I thought he lost fight 1 but removed all doubt in fight 2. He definitely beats Bivol, he’s not outboxing Ward. Beterbiev is a tougher fight but I think Ward’s ring IQ would be difference.

Berbetiev was still fighting in Canada, active only once a year getting paid 100k a fight and Bivol was getting paid a little bit less fighting on undercards not even as the co-main event. Why would a guy on the verge of retirement that just beat the P4P #2 fighter in the world fight either guy that brings zero financial attraction to a fight at the end of his career?

It’s also telling that Berbetiev & Bivol haven’t fought each other after 7 years of Ward retiring. But Ward (according to Ward critics) ducked them both, Jesus.

This argument is as bad as Bud ‘ducking’ Boots, even if he were to retire right now.

Also Beterbiev turned down Kovalev fight twice, clearly his handlers weren’t confident. which pretty much defeats the entire argument.
By the way , do you know that Beterbiev beat Kovi not once but twice in the amateurs
I don’t thinI Your aware of this fact
Imagine the uproar if Kovi would of fought a fighter who had only 6 fights when he requested to fight him ?
