He is more influential than wood is simple because he does a lot of charity and stuff for RP!!!!

Everytime this influential **** is bought up it has to boil down to some NFL/BASKETBALL/BASEBALL players, NOBODY GIVES A **** ABOUT those 3 sports OUTSIDE OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lebron and kobe should not even b on that ****** list!!!!!!!!!!!
To be fair at least Kobe is known in Mexico and China.

A lot of those cats rather watch mini-golf. Just because rich people and a lot of the U.S. knows Tiger doesn't mean he's popular on a global scale. Boxing is worldwide sport that both rich and poor watch and enjoy. Usain Bolt makes some sense in terms of popularity. Everyone watches the Olympics and the man is an Olympic hero.
You don't have to know anything about golf to know who Tiger Woods is. Poor or rich Tiger Woods is a name that most people know...yes even in Mexico and south america, I mean why wouldn't they? Tiger is popular on a global scene and someone like Pacman can't compete with Tiger Woods as far as popularity and being well known. That's just silly to assume he is. Usain Bolt is another story he's definitely up there but still not on Tiger Woods level. Pacman forget about it, he's huge in his country and among filipinos and inspire them a lot but is not some global superstar.

Right. And if they don't care about Tennis, then how did Roger Federed get to #8?

And if it doesn't make sense for a couple of people, it doesn't make sense at all.

look at the ratings: the fans who voted went crazy. The editors' score was way lower.

What happened is some of the same obsessed 14 yr old Pinoys who are on this site voted a zillion times. The same way that some fans go crazy and vote for the MLB all-star game.

It's funny you bring it up. I do know quite a few people in Mexico who know the name Tiger Woods, but have no clue that he's a golfer or that he's even the best golfer of all time. They just know the name from hearsay. Most know Manny Pacquiao as well as know that he's p4p#1 boxer today. It's not just about name recognition man, its relevance. Who is more important in that persons eyes. Since there are more boxing fans than golf fans worldwide than of course a boxer is going to be more important than a golfer in their eyes.

Each year Forbes ranks the world based on a variety of categories ranging from the wealthiest people on the planet to the best colleges America has to offer.

Funny how I don't see Manny anywhere on THIS list. Lol. Now, let me see how you argue as to why Oprah Winfrey, arguably THE most influential person ANYWHERE, has a TV rank of 2nd and Tiger Woods has a TV rank of 4th AND a press rank of 4th? Come on Dude. Oh yeah, just to rub some salt in your burning ass right now, Lebron AND Kobe are on that list too. LMAO. Okay, seriously, I'm done now. This is actually turning out to be fun.

LOL your seriously thinking your burning ass? You deluded yourself into thinking that the whole world revolves around U.S. Athletes and that only athletes popular in the U.S. hold any influence worldwide. You keep looking at a narrow ass picture and I keep having to smack you behind the head so that your eyes might focus on the bigger picture. As to your list up there, it's complete bull**** since it only takes into account views in the U.S. where as the Askmen ranking was open worldwide.

PACQUIAO IS INFLUENTIAL ONLY in his HOME COUNTRY, the Philippines.

HE WON'T GET A MAC COMMERCIAL LIKE YAO MING! HE IS NOT EVEN ASIAN! Same reason why they won't PUT A PACQUIAO WAX STATUE IN HONGKONG wax museum... IT IS RESERVED FOR ASIAN GREATS ONLY (MINUS SOUTHEASTASIA) THAT'S SAME REASON WHY CORY IS NOT THERE TOO.
