    is floyd gbp now?

uncle bob is not gonna like that.

every pacquiao fight against a gbp fighter , uncle bob has to split pac's share with gbp.

that's why he pushed for diaz-pac last year (after back to back fights against gbp fighters in barrera and marquez) and also why he wanted cotto-pac first (after back to back gbp fighters in hatton and delahoya)

If Pac faces Shane the same would happen

How long of a break will Pac be taking due to the 2010 elections

But in response, basically I agree. IMO, Pac-cotto should be +500K more than pbf-jmm in order to affect the negotiations. But negotiations are not limited to numbers. Like I said on some previous posts, the data(ppv) numbers is heterogeneous. Meaning... there is really no way we can tell who of the paying public is giving out their money to. So, a lot depends on a good negotiator to get the bigger slice by arguing who was the bigger draw.

        Since you like math,
Say pbf's part in the pbf-dlh is 10% of the total ppv(2.4M), this would translate to 240,000 buys.
Say pac's part in the pac-dlh is 50% of the total(1.2M), this means 600,000 buys.

I'm not saying you are wrong but this is just a different view. I could care less of what will be the split. Its huge money for both camps. I just want to see the fight.
Well im glad to see you agree with what i had to say because it is really just common sense. As far as manglers "analogy", i dont even want to see it. An algerbretic equation can be proven, while an anology is an inference that if things agree in some respects they probably agree in others.

I wish I was getting a piece of the moneyt for a PAC v PBF match up, just give me .5% and id be good. If PAC beats Cotto that would vault this fight to one of the biggest if not the biggest in the history of boxing.

The whole how many fans this fighter brought to the table compared to his opponent is cmpletely bogus. Look at it this way..

We know DLH could sell PPVs because when he fought the numbers where good and there was a trend to follow. How dumb would anyone look saying,"well DLH fought Mayoraga,Mosely,Vargas he only brught 10% and they brought the other 90%" Hed look like a dumbass because when those fighter were on PPVs with other fighters they didnt do as well. So we know DLH was a the reason. Foyd has had sold over 3mil ppv in his last 3 fight, would you seriously try to argue he only brought 300k to all three of those events?

Hopefully he won't win so that he will continue his boxing career and see another exciting fight....

nah pac should retire after 1 more fight.

he's turning 32 next year and been fighting for 15-16 years.

it'd be good for him to go out at the top of his game.

                      Not really.

At a certain point, there is no more upside. If you believe that May-Pac is 2.5 to 3 mil buys, would that make the scenario you described 3.0 to 3.5 mil?

                      I don't think so.

Besides, things happen in the sport and in life. What if Floyd cracks a knuckle against Shane's steroid-inflated head?

I subscribe to the adage of "strike while the iron is hot".
