No announcement yet.
It is time USA starts catering for the UK audience and STOP putting fights on at 4am!

What's going on on the other side of the world is of no concern.
However you're right, USA is the largest boxing market with its own timezones to contend with so it obviously takes priority.

Obviously the US isn't going to cater to the UK market but do the main events REALLY need to be on at ****ing 11pm local time? It happens in the UK as well, What's the logic behind this?

a lot of people are working during the day and can't be sat in an arena watching a fight at 2 in the afternoon.
The reason most fights are on Saturday night is because it's pretty much the prime time where you can sell tickets to people because a lot of people don't work Sundays and they can be at the fight Saturday night and have a night out and not be thinking about the next day.
it is what it is.
the Premier League is huge in Asia and Australia but they have to accept that the games are played at an inconvenient time of night for them. You can't please everyone.

they should start a main event around 9.30pm. By the time the do the ring walks, fight, post fight stuff, it would be wrapped up by 11. Pretty much like a concert.
I don't think there's any logic behind it, I think promoters are ust trying to get as many fights as possible on their undercards to get their Fighters out, but it means the card drags on way too long.
I think most punters would prefer it was wrapped up by half ten or eleven so they can get off and have another couple of drinks somewhere else or somethingLast edited by deathofaclown; 12-11-2023, 07:54 AM.

M-F - you go to work, maybe college
S-S - you should be at home with your family resting after a hard week's work
Now, if you're a slacker at work and don't show up until the weekend...that's that

Why don't we just go all in, and demand that the whole world operates on Greenwich Mean Time? Who gives a fook if it's pitch black in South America at midday? People work all hours of the day and night in Chinese and Indian sweatshops anyway, doesn't make a different to me. Let's make the planet great again!paulf likes this.

There is nothing like watching a live fight. It does suck if it is at that time in the AM but if you are a fan they will be some small sacrifices that has to be made. The Japan fight cards are during the week at a very inconvenient hour.
In the past Network TV used to play meaningful fights during the weekends in the afternoon.
