Why losing time fighting guys like Teo Lopez or Matias at 140.

He should go to 147, fight somebody like Stanionis or Thurman first, if he can win, than he should fight Ennis.
Theirs advantages he has staying as light as possible. Hes not heavy handed.

It really just depends on the fighter.
I think it is more of a money issue. At least that was a big motive for manny and Floyd. They seemed to move with that risk-benefit-reward analysis going on. If the more lucrative fights are at 147, then he will move there. If those fights are at 140, he will stay. And if Tank by some miracle agrees to fight at 135, he will move back down (maybe). Tank will try to get a rehydration clause. Also, I do not think Haney can make that weight anymore. But if Lopez will fight him, I believe he could do that next.

Maybe the big issue is what type of deal did he sign with Matchroom? Multi fight deal? Hard for me to believe Hearn only brought him over for one fight.

He's only 25 years old. Why rush it? Plus he fights more frequently than most fighters. He has time to make big fights at 140 first.

So either Devin's move is to go up to 147 for Keef or Barrios or fight another 140 belt holder (which seems unlikely rn, Rolly gots mando, Teo wants $10M for tune up fights & Matias is too high risk, low reward for anyone with value at 140) or fight Ryan for no belt (which also seems unlikely to me rn).
Unifications supercede mandatories. Haney can get Teo or Matias next.

people talking about the guys who either skipped 140 like mosley or didnt stay there long like pac and floyd, that was because historically 147 usually is the bigger division with more star names and 140 is usually less popular.

But TODAY is an abnormally where there are more names 135-140 than at 147. The previous generation that are still around at 147 are all aging out. There arent many new exciting guys there at the moment and if Haney leaves 140 now it will be looked at as ducking the names down there.

Devin vs Regis already overrode the Sandor Martin mando Regis had, Devin vs Regis got made cuz it was agreed the winner fights Sandor. Obv the rules are always up for debate with these corrupt groups so I'd never suggest Sandor wouldn't get overlooked again, but I kinda doubt Teo is gonna be reasonable enough to make a fight, dude thinks cuz he gots a deal with Nestle he's worth $10M for tune up fights let alone what he'd want to fight Devin & Matias is all risk, lil reward so doesn't make a lot of sense for Devin. And Rolly is in a whole mando/injury situation himself. I'd love to see any unifying 140 bout, but I think its unlikely to be next.

I think the 147 move is the superior move with solid options.

He's been 135 for a decade looking like Skeletor at weigh ins in recent yrs. Idk that an extra 5lbs is all he needs to be weighing.

There's definitely fights to make at 140, but for health reasons it might be better to fight at 147. Obv only he knows how he feels, but it wouldn't surprise me if his body is ready to make a more reasonable weight after all he's put it through at 135.

No freaking way, gives away more of his advantages there and why would he unless its Crawford, would make more money fighting Garcia, Teo at 140 than a Boots, Stanionas etc. Man is 25 and killing it, plenty of time for him to go up there.

I think he will because he's clearly struggling already to make 140. He had to drop his shorts to make weight. That's not a good sign after just moving up.
