Ramirez was looking for the KO from round 1. He fought ****** the whole fight. He did not have to take 80 shots a round to the face. Espinoza is tough as hell, but in my opinion, in a rematch, Ramirez would stick and move far more, stay out of the pocket and attack the body from the get go. Espinoza was done in 5, another 30 seconds and it was over. And yes, Espinoza knocked Ramirez down simply with volume in the last round, Robeisy was spent and took a knee.

Just an obvious case of an overconfident champion thinking it was an easy nights work. And Espinoza is no joke. And I in no way guarantee Ramirez wins a rematch, but I see a totally different strategy for Ramirez if it happens.

Ramirez got caught trying to prove he could not be hurt instead of thinking about doing what he needed to do to win. Very amateurish night for him mentally.

I want to see Espinoza in the rematch and in with a few other top guys before I form a solid opinion on him. As I said, he gives any guy in the division a damn good fight, he made a fan of me. His chin seems a bit suspect, he was wobbled several times and a few weren't huge shots. But he has no fear or quit in him. Fun to watch.

I disagree completely Ramirez couldn't do what he usually does because he had a 6'1 FW who was throwing punches from all angles non stop including a long jab that kept Ramirez from doing what he wanted.

The 5th rd kd was a fluke again because Espinoza got caught switching stance playing around had it not been for that it would have been more dominant since it took Espinoza a few rds to gather himself but once he did he proceeded to beat him up.

Oh and all that wit injured knee hence the reason for some of the wobbling from some shots.

Espinoza is bad style match up for Ramirez....and pretty much any other FW

Jake Donovan, the writer of the article, needs to leave politics aside. He sounds dumb when he says that Robeisy " found freedom ". What is his definition of freedom? Earning more in the US than in Cuba? In thatr case, all immigrants obtain freedom because they left their countries for the US. Anyway, Espinoza clearly won and put a beat down to that defector ( yes, politics).

If you are a communist just say it. Read about Robeisy's struggles with the government in Cuba. Check out all the oppression that goes on there. Robeisy says these things himself, he openly posts about it on Instagram...

Not enough body work. That round where Rob started throwing unnecessary haymakers when it was becoming clear that he was not going to stop dude is where he lost the fight imo as he punched himself out but given the scorecards seems best he could have hoped for was to get out of there with a draw...

I'll be 1st to admit I haven't followed his career too closely but they keep talking like he was some big huge puncher and I'm going like "since when?" I never recalled him standing out as a big puncher in the past. It's all about who you are knocking out. Obviously tonight proved that was in fact not the case as he was beatin by a mere journeyman with limited skills.

That definitely played a role in this fight, the bodywork. Espinoza was consistently going downstairs since round 1. Robeisy started throwing body shots later (maybe after feeling how effective they were when used on him) but he used them too sporadically.

Down the stretch this paid off for Espinoza. His engine kept going while Robeisy seemed to wear down.

If you don't know , you don't know. There's a world of difference in freedom between the U.S. and Cuba. Go to Cuba and put on a T-shirt saying " **** The President " like people do here in the U.S. You'll find out what freedom is , the hard way.

Great fight. Awesome for Espinoza. But can someone explain to me why Top Rank felt the need to put Ramirez in w an unknown 6’1 fighter from Mexico w a 90% KO ratio who was not his mandatory ?

what was he supposed to learn from this even in a win ? Why would he ever need to know how to fight a guy this size in the pro ranks ?

Robeisy relied too much on that ****** high guard, and was looking for the haymaker all night. He had more success than I thought, but Espinoza had too much time to land punches. I’ll say it again: Divino’s heart won the day. Robeisy faded at the end, initiating the first clinch of the fight.

A fluke knockdown? You guys are really something, he was throwing haymakers from the get go, and he put him out, 30 seconds more in that round and it was over. The mexican found his second win and Robeisy never did. Heart won the day
and we the fans are thankful. What a fight, nothing to be ashamed, just learn.

At the end of the fight I have so little faith in officiating I was thinking, please don't rob him, please don't rob him.

That was a great performance no way they could have taken it from Espinoza
