Comments Thread For: Zab Judah: Don't Count Demetrius Andrade Out, He Ain't Done

Zab Judah has always felt a sense of sadness when it came to the career of Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade. The former Olympian was as talented as they come, but for whatever reason, he was unable to secure any of the big-time fights.

Canelo said he was a horrible, horrible fighter. I guess he was right. First time stepping up and he got destroyed.

I agree with Judah. Losing to Benavidez doesn't mean much bc he ain't had no business at 168 to begin with, much less be in with the biggest and the most talented guy not named Canelo in the division. When he was at 154, and even at 160, all the other big names wanted nothing to do with him. Partly bc of how skilled he is and partly bc of him shooting himself in the foot business-wise, making it easier for them to avoid him. Sucks that he might be getting all the big fights he's been wanted now that he's 35, possibly at the end of his career and after a brutal beating he took just trying to make any big fight happen for him. Hopefully he still has some good fights left in him bc he hasn't really taken much punishment in his career other than his last fight. But that Benavidez fight might have taken something out of him at this stage of his career.

I feel not many will be lining up to want to face Andrade even after this loss because he lost to a very good young and strong and bigger David Benavidez. Most would lose to Benavidez so I don’t think this loss exposes Andrade too much to where people will now line up to face him. What’s yet to be seen because it’s too soon obviously is how much that beating took out of Andrade at this stage of his career. Once he comes back vs a lesser opponent and depending on his performance on that fight, will determine the line of opponents he will have there after.

Not much sympathy for Andrade tbh. He only stepped up to 168 as he didn't fancy the Jsnibek fight imo.

Canelo isn't the voice of boxing. He could have proven that BooBoo was a horrible fighter when he was the mandatory at 154 but chose to fight James Kirkland instead.

He could potentially beat mental case Jermall Charlo.
