Comments Thread For: Deontay Wilder Brushes Off Retirement Talk: I'm Young; I Haven't Had Much Damage on Me

And Wlad was considered old long before he fought Fury so, yes of course I don't consider 38 "young", in boxing at least.
Like I said to the previous guy most top level heavyweights have retired by then, apart from a select few who are either extreme outliers or are just fighting on because they're desperate for money to fund their lifestyle.Comment

Well technically speaking that's true. He hasn't absorbed a whole lot of punishment in his career.
However, those two back to back ass whupping losses to Tyson Fury could have possibly ruined or even permanently damaged him overnight.
However, we won't know until his next fight if there were any lasting damage done to him from that trilogy with Tyson Fury.Comment

Man ur damned skull has a dent in it. U have a whole lotta damage. Ur brain case is all f..ked up. So much so, that u blame ur trainer for poisoning u. It must take one severe asswhipping to make someone say that.Comment

Thats bull. Same pond they've all been fishing out of. Different QOO levels, sure; but not enough to offset the better stats from D.W. I thought you retired that weak narrative after Dubois blew away your idol. By "top ten" you mean The Ring's. Lol.Comment

Deontay is still exciting because of his freakish pop but... He's famously bad at self-assessment.
If he got with a new trainer that was less of a cheerleader then he might get me on board to check out another fight, but it's not been looking great last couple years. He's slowing down enough now to need those fundamentals that he never really had.Comment

why do you say joshua is my idol? because he has fought better competition than wilder? once again thats just a fact. me pointing out that fact means hes my idol? there are much better fighters then joshua but when you compare him to wilder its not close.
why would i retire a narrative that works? whether i like someone or not it works. in fact it prevents me from going into fanboy mode like you and pretending bums are legit guys. if you beat fighters in the top 10 you are probably doing something right, of course you can always nitpick those rankings which i do, but if you dont even beat guys in the top 10 that shows you arent legit at all and need to compensate with a lot of fanboy fantasy points like the ones you make.
yes i mean the ring. what else has more credibility? we can use tbrb but its almost the same rankings which further gives the ring more credibility. you know what doesnt have credibility? the wbc rankings who have guys like molina, washington, spilzka, duhapas, etc...ranked in their top 10 when no one else does.Comment
