2 undefeated fighters who would fight for the unification of a division I am not sure what you would define as "meaningful" if it is not that.

Depending on what happens, don't see Smith winning but time is ticking he's close to 40 and it would have been nice to get this fight a few years ago. We lost May/Pac when it should have happened is what i mean where yeah, it didn't mean that much.

Dude. You literally have Gaston (QAF) as your avatar and you said you'd "slap swords" with another dude. Just admit it.

Beterbiev isn't losing to a UK stiff. He'll age soon, but not against a gutless turtle like Smith.

Beterbiev isn't losing to a turtle who laid against the ropes vs. 5'8" Canelo. Beterbiev TKO 8.

We’ll see I guess. To be fair Smith was unbeaten when he faced Canelo and had won the super 6 at 168. He did clam up against Canelo but styles make fights and that was a peak Canelo not a 39 year old Beterbiev who is coming in off the back of a brutal fight against Yarde in which he was clearly wobbled a few times. Damage is cumulative and wars take their toll. I don’t think anybody can say with any certainty how much that fight has taken out of Beterbiev but in my opinion Smith is fighting him at the perfect time. The Canelo fight was Smiths last at 168 and he took it on short notice and was clearly drained at the weight. Even if he doesn’t beat Beterbiev I think he’ll do a lot better than most people expect and I also think Beterbiev will start showing signs of decline particularly if the fight goes into the later rounds. Smith has never been stopped not even by Canelo and don’t expect that to change.

Beterbiev struggled a little against Yarde, but Yarde is bo scrub. He's not going to struggle with Smith. He will break him down and get him out of there. You conveniently forget to mention how John Ryder slapped Smith around a few years ago.

I agree. Beter is an absolute wrecking ball, but Bivol will do him the same way he does everyone else. His feet and his control of distance combined with his hand speed are just too much. I don't see Bivol losing any time soon.

Got ya. I understand your point. Zero debate from me this fight even in 2022 means a ton more than in 2024. Even if it is still big, it is not the huge event it should be. Totally valid.
