  • Comments Thread For: Robeisy Ramirez: [126] Is One Of The Most Competitive Divisions, The Titles Can Change Hands At Any Time

There is a more on the line for Robeisy Ramirez beyond his featherweight title. A big fight of sorts figures to be in the brilliant future of the double Olympic gold medalist and reigning WBO titlist. Even if Naoya Inoue decides to stick around in the junior featherweight division, the primary goal remains in place for Ramirez beyond his scheduled title defense versus Mexico's Rafael Espinoza--the chance to add more hardware to his collection.

Hope this means he'll unify with Vargas or Lopez.

Kholmatov v Ford could be a good fight too.

126 and 130 became way more stacked ever since Shakur left the divisions, either they were intimidated by the guy's size or he held the belt's hostage unable to give some contenders the opportunity. Nonetheless it's a welcome change of pace.

Yeah but outside of Shakur unifying against Valdez there has not been a unification in a long time.

I hope so too, but IBF has Reiya Abe as the mandatory so if Venado and Robeisy unifies they will also have to take care of that .

Vargas likely only has two choices for his next fight...come back to 126 and fight interim champ Figueroa or vacate and move up, which likely brings Figueroa up to official WBC champ status.

Kholmatov v Ford already has a mandatory eliminator lined up with the winner, so WBA belt will be tied up until late 2024 at the least.

Not a huge deal, since Inoue is apparently planning to stay at 122 and defend against the top guys. If Inoue stays dominant at 122, then whoever has the most belts is basically guaranteed a shot, since he always fights the best available guy. Which is an amazing thing, really. Wish more fighters were willing to do that.
