A good question is, If the fight did 1.2mill++, think Mayweather will take a 50/50 split?

      Check,

      Did Delahoya-Pacquiao sell out?

      Thanks.

This fight would have to sell Delahoya-Trinidad numbers. That is 1.2 million buys. The previous record for a non-heavyweight bout.

        Ask yourself:

Is Pacquiao as popular as Delahoya?
Is Cotto as popular as Trinidad?
Is the storyline as compelling as "two undefeated WW fighters"?
Is the Filipino-Puerto Rican rivalry as heated as the Mexican-Puerto Rican rivalry?

All good questions, then you have to factor in their characters.

I'm just saying comparing these two fights with attendance right now is not fair. I just did a search for tickets and you can't get a single ticket in the 150, 300,500, or 750 sections. So, a month plus to go till the fight and if you want to go you will have to throw down a grand. I believe a month till the Mayweather fight you could still grab the 150 dollar tickets and for sure the 300 section. This fight will def. sell more tickets because the main event is a real fight so the hardcore boxing fans(people that spend money on the sport)will come out in full throat. PPV buys is debatable though because of Floyds popularity. IMO, ppv buys will very close so no one will be looked at as a clear ppv attraction winner.

Forgive me if I don't see that.

...but I'm sure the excuses will be flowing. Even though they PREDICTED 1.5 plus mil.
It's possible it may not, but it's a damn good fight. If there's any fight to watch in the remainder of 2009, this is the one to watch.

I can imagine it doing 1 mil if the hype is there.

If it doesn't then I will be surprised.

I think if Hatton and Pac did 800k, then Cotto and Pac must do better. There are a few Ricans in the US and Filipinos right?

I also think that People know of Pac right now because of the Mayweather hype and his fight with Oscar. People will want to see who is Floyd gonna fight since a lot feel the winner will be his next opponent. Cotto is a top fighter and people want to see how his career goes. Pac is worldwide famous right now and that's enough to get people to notice.

That's what I was thinking. Pacquiao being more known, Cotto faught Clottey on Free HBO (Didn't look too good), I don't see how it doesn't do more then Hatton vs. Pacquiao. That is where I'm confused also.

Theres plenty of excitement for this fight and fortunately it lays with the true boxing fan and not with ticket counters. Lets keep these threads for Mayweather he's truly good at adding and subtracting seats!
