People already know Mayweather's style. They've seen enough of him; so don't make such an idiotic excuse. Mayweather vs. Baldomir was suppose to kill Mayweather's drawing power, instead Mayweather and Oscar do 2.4Mill PPV Buys. Mayweather vs. Oscar, I remember hearing, "Mayweather vs. Oscar didn't help the sport, "People won't tune in to see Mayweather again". Then Mayweather goes on to do 915K against Hatton, 1.1Mill+ against Marquez. A dude made a thread saying Mayweather vs. Marquez will do 1mill, everyone called him crazy. Everyone predicted 450K/ 500K and it more then double. Accept that Mayweather is the draw and that people appreciate his style. That is all there is to it, don't make lame excuses.
Will "FIREPOWER" sell more than "NUMERO UNO"?

You travel alot, as I do also. I'm not seeing alot of Cotto vs. Pacquiao hype and I live in the Bronx, I'm surrounded by Puerto Ricans and I'm not seeing the hype. I've seen way more Mayweather vs. Marquez posters. Anyway, I change my mind on how much Cotto vs. Pacquiao will do. I honestly believe that it will do as much/ or more then Numero Uno. The fact that this is seen as a competitive match up does make a difference, I do believe that.Last edited by Al Haymon; 11-02-2009, 07:50 PM.Comment

You know Mr. Al Haymon, it should. It honestly should. But I know it won't. A PR and Filipino in the US fighting. That's like the sad **** that was with Cotto and Margarito. An awesome fight that you wish everyone saw, but they miss out on. Then you get crap that is overhyped(anything with Floyd involved), and it put's people to sleep making them say, "damn why did I get conned into this crap? That's why I prefer MMA better." It's the sad world of boxing. The fighters that deserve the attention don't get it. And the ones that don't, get too much of it.
Do you think that if Manny had gone to GBP that he would be a MUCH bigger star?Comment

There is something about Floyd that is easy to watch. the guy is so athletic and balanced and fluid. When he trains, when he runs, the way he hits the pads with Roger, it is just good to watch.Comment

I don't know, I start to think again and quickly change my mind. The fact that Cotto and Pacquiao weren't all over the place like Mayweather may make a difference. I need to really think about this one. Marquez was also doing commercials and his side of 24/7 was interesting; wasn't boring at all. I'll get back to youComment

Alot of "hardcore" fans on here don't understand what the casuals like about Floyd. They hate Floyd, and insist that the casual fans must be idiots if they buy the Mayweather fights.

Right now it doesn't look like its going to come close to doing Numero Uno numbers. The 24/7's are, for lack of a better word, dull. There is no controversy brewing. Bob Arum is no Don King or Golden Boy for that matter, (is he even promoting the fight at all?) and quite honestly I dont think anyone really cares who wins. What exactly is at stake? Nothing really, nothing the casual fan cares about. An undefeated record, ala Mayweather, automatically raises the stakes.Comment
