Comments Thread For: Ryan Garcia Says Relationship With Canelo Is Repaired: 'We're Cool Now, No Hard Feelings'

Ryan Garcia and Canelo Alvarez formed a strong relationship throughout the years training alongside each other under the au****es of touted coach Eddy Reynoso. From 2018 to 2021, Garcia was 5-0 with 5 KOs as Alvarez's stablemate.

From how I perceive this, it sounds like this kid wants to mend the fences so he can try to get on their good side just to get shine off of Canelo for himself by just being associated with him again. Like all these random folks that jump on big YTers channels just to promote themselves, not really there to support the YTer. Wasn't all that humble with them when he was undefeated and had the hype train behind him before getting completely outclassed by Davis. Can't be around dudes that are about handling business when you ain't about handling business and just looking for attention at every turn on the internet. Social media got everybody thinking they're more special than they really are nowadays.

Probably looking for someone to align himself with after airing out Hopkins and Golden Boy in public.

Canelo was the worst thing to happen to this kid, as was the reynosos. Prior to being cool with Canelo this kid was humble, then they got in his ear and he expected to be treated like Canelo. Even his issues with golden boy are almost verbatim the same cries from Canelo. I’m still betting he ends up fighting under canelos banner which was his and reynosos plan all along. Ryan is a sucker who will end up enriching reynosos and Alvarez.

No. Garcia doesn’t have the work ethic or grit to become an upper echelon professional boxer. That’s what the problem was. I’m not a huge Canelo fan but these are two things Canelo has always had an abundance of.

Of course he would attempt to get that relationship back, because he wants advice on how to leave GBP!

I also think he's too arrogant. He's got the raw talent, but either nobody's ever suggested that he develop a good right hand, or he didn't want to listen. And he's still talking about his left hook. It's like Wilder. He's got that right, but if he had a left to match, I don't think any fight with him would ever go the distance again. If Ryan could put people out with his right too, he'd be much harder to beat, even with his obvious other flaws. That's not honestly that hard a thing to improve, which makes me think the issue is that he just doesn't think he needs to.

Wasn't Garcia celebrating Canelos loss to Bivol? there is no coming back from that
