Ok, the most of you guys expected him to beat Bivol, which didn`t happen for obvious reasons. But Canelo probably won about 4 rounds in that fight.

After that Canelo clearly beat ancient version GGG, that he clearly beat top 10 contender Ryder, than he won every round against Charlo ( the fight many casuals demanded, lol).

Now you guys say he is done and that even Crawford beats him, not to mention Benavidez.

Believe me, Canelo is not bad and shot enough to lose to these guys. he is still the best super middleweight. and this is coming from the guy who laughed when you guys suggested Canelo should challenge Usyk.

        - - Made the first of the Charlene sistas into a coward, so I doubt the other sista would risk her record given she's played her mental illness card for over 2 years, sobbing weekly to her Sugar Daddies, Uncles Al & Mauricio...

Canelo prob fights Bena this year, preferably Cinco de Mayo, an easy and very lucrative fight right now that needs no further marination that always leads to stagnation.

One of the things that makes me think he's lost a step is that he's not using his head movement nearly as much, and he's loading up on shots. He's a very different fighter from the guy who beat up Daniel Jacobs for instance. I think after the Kovalev fight, and then his run at super middle, that he fell in love with his power, but that's also not really been in much evidence lately. Couldn't stop aging GGG, or Ryder, or the super welterweight. Don't know whether it's the absence of his special tacos or what, but when you see a fighter stop using head movement, stop getting knockouts, and start having endurance issues, you start to wonder if he has lost a step.

I think he's likely still the best super middle also, and that Benavidez hasn't fought a guy like him, but they've got to fight. Can't be two kings in the division, and if he can't take Beterbiev or Bivol, he's got to cement his dominance over his division, and do so while he's still the A-side. He's not going to be able to age out Benavidez, and the more experience Benavidez gets, the more of the holes in his game he'll get a chance to close out. Benavidez has done his part to build the hype to make people think that he can beat Canelo and make it into a fight that will sell well. If Canelo dominates him, recency bias will put him right back on top. Does HE think he can do it though? We'll know based on his opponents for the rest of the PBC deal. If he fights the likes of a non PBC fighter in Munguía, and Crawford, rather than Morrell and Benavidez, that will answer the question of whether or not he's ducking.

People wanted to see Canelo fight Mall the 160 lber not 154 Mell. Anyway, back on topic, no Canelo isn't regressing and let me explain.

When Canelo fights at his most appropriate weight, he's unbeatable, it's when he starts messing around with his weight does he lose. Take just 2 pounds off of his normal weight and he loses, e.g. Mayweather or add too much weight like in the Bivol fight, which was 7 pounds north, and again he loses.

Can't go too low or too high in regard to weight, have to pick the right weight class where said fighter is most comfortable and hydrated so they can perform at maximum output.

I just rewatched Canelo -Bivol. Bivol had to block many sneaky uppercuts and hooks. And Bivol fights smarter than Benavidez and moves a lot.

When Benavidez eats some of these counters it is over for him.

He's arguably much slower since his win over Billy Joe Saunders, IMO. Even with Plant, he looked much more plodding than is typical for a Canelo fight. He's been doing this for a long time, is nearing his mid-30s, and I'd say that loss to Bivol certainly took something out of him as well, so... Yeah, he's definitely in the regression stages, though I still think he beats Benavidez, but not for much longer.

If the poster can’t see that Canelo has regressed well then it’s quite useless to explain it to him cause his mind is already made up
The only explanation I’ll give the thread starter is I’ll bet him that Canelo will lose vs Benny
Take that action and you’ll understand why he has regressed once you pay up
