I get what you are writing, but they were both in the same weight class at the weigh in, so what are we supposed to do?
Not allow fighters to move up in weight because they started at a lighter weight? Require fighters to move up in weight even if they are still able to make a lower weight? Create new weight classes that involve what we deem to be a fighters 'natural weight'?
Weight is already the equalized variable, both guys made the weight.Comment

I think most people thought Benavidez would need to adjust to Andrade's skills and ring IQ over the first few rounds. But most people also expected Benevidez to eventually beat down the smaller man. It was an exciting fight but the size difference was probably a strong factor in the outcome. Did the broadcast mention fight-night weights?Comment

I think you have it the other way around
Actually Benavidez started off very slow he even admitted himself in the interviews afterwardsComment

He agreed to a 20' ring and a rematch clause. It's been talked about in multiple espn articles.Comment

That is the weight they agreed on and Andrade started at a lower weight but is not a small guy. Dude was ripped during the fight. What is your point? An excuse?
Physically David is naturally bigger but Andrade's skills could not overcome that.Comment
