  • Comments Thread For: Jose Benavidez Jr. on Loss To Charlo: It Was Way Closer Than What The Judges Said It Was

Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas - Jermall Charlo returned to the ring for the first time in 29 months with a spirited performance against a very game and durable Jose Benavidez Jr., the older brother of David Benavidez in their 10-round non-title bout contracted at 163 pounds.

Not really. You had 40 second spurts every other round and ultimately got worked by a shot fighter.

Did Charlo really look shot to you? I think he looked a little rusty in the beginning but he still had that great jab of his.

Jose definitely could be competitive, can he make 154?

Bruh, these fools get in here and say anything. The only thing shot is his brain. All Charlo needs is a proper training camp.

Bumavidez Jr did good honestly. He landed some good shots and lasted the 10.

Using the same excuse as Andrade did, Jr did good against a middleweight who came in as a super middleweight and he himself started at 140. Lost to a bigger guy.

Jose is a talented guy but lacks discipline in and out of the ring and does enough to lose.
He fought like a guy hired to be Jermall's sparring partner.

So what! You still lost, and you were soundly beaten by another fighter who had been out of the ring for 2 years.
You don't fight as good as you can act tough, and consequently you've lost your last two fights by clear unanimous decision's.

No, you got your ass whupped! You only fought in spurts by throwing flurries that Jermall saw coming a mile away.

Charlo neutralized you and had you off balance. He had you eating leather all night with his jab which kept you on the outside.
