It really comes down to who can impose their will on the other fighter. They are fairly even, but it will come down to who wants it more. On paper you have to favor Benavidez, but can he take that Canelo heat?

Humans are emotional creatures generally, and boxing fans specifically are highly emotional as boxing appeals to one's primal instincts. Your average young male got very excited by Benavidez's stoppage and is now chanting that he will stop Canelo.

Looked at coldly, Benavidez looks rather open to me. Canelo hits hard enough and accurately enough to make David cautious about rushing in. If his output is restricted, how is he going to beat Canelo?

Exactly, Benavidez is not going to be hard to find. Canelo won't have to chase him around the ring

I like Benavidez as a fighter and I hope he fights Canelo. My priority are Canelo -Benavidez and Bivol - Beterbiev. But Bivol - Benavidez at 175 is also a good idea, if Canelo decides to duck David.

I am longtime Canelo hater, but I just dont`t see Benavidez beating Saul. I had seen that factor in GGG and Bivol even before they fought Canelo, I don`t see it in Benavidez.

Why would Canelo duck Benavidez? I think Munguia has faster hands him. They are both dumb pressure fighters like Gilberto Ramirez.

pure boxer (fmw, lara, bivol) > boxer puncher (canelo) > pressure fighters (benavidez) > pure boxers (plant, 160 andrade)

obviously you have special cases when the arrows are reversed as in if you put Benavidez in with Bivol. That's another 12-0/11-1 fight.

            Nothing new in boxing.

Benavidez is quicker, younger, much taller/rangier and has the ability to sustain pressure. I'm not fully convinced that Bivol or even that older version of Kovalev necessarily hit harder either, and regardless Kovalev wasnt able to really push the pace and punish Canelo at that point in his career anyway. Also Canelo doesnt have the mobility to stay away from Benavidezs offence so itd most likely be a gruelling nasty firefight.

Not counting Canelo out at all btw. I'd say its like 60/40 towards Benavidez. Regardless this fight needs to happen very soon.

No, stylistically I think Alvarez will be able to win most of the rounds.

Benavidez does have a good combination of power and aggression 'But Alvarez throughout his career has fought more powerful punchers, and fighters with a higher skill level than Benavidez overall'.

I just believe that this experience, will aid Alvarez in beating Benavidez.

Note: Benavidez will have the ability to pressure Alvarez, but? I don't think his defense or movement is good enough to then avoid Alvarez's more sophisticated offense.

The fight will most likely be a very action packed fight, where I think Alvarez's inside game and more developed defense on the inside will prevail 'In order for Benavidez to win, his power is going to have to stop Alvarez in his tracks. I am not so sure whether Benavidez has that type of power' etc.

yea, canelo punches so hard he couldn't even dent a 2 year layoff and 2 weight 154lb charlo.

                      what beast canelo is!

what do you think benevidez would've done to that charlo?
