Totally exposed as a very limited fighter who was simply happy gloating he made Shakur look bad rather than trying too actually win the fight.

    They was both to blame.
Yep thats what I saw too.

EDLS wanted to make Shakur look bad more than he wanted to win & Shakur wanted to win more than he wanted to risk getting touched by EDLS.

You might like a movie that I might hate. I might like a movie that you might hate. And we both might hate The English Patient. But at the end of the day we all gambled our $12 at the movie theater to be entertained & sometimes it works out & sometimes it doesn't. And for boxers on the other side of things & involved in a sport this means goal #1 should be to win, goal #2 should be to entertain.
For the paying fans goal #1 should be to get good fights for their hard-earned money.

If they start making more of a concerted effort to shun guys like Shakur Stevenson who stink out the joint then maybe there will be more pressure for boxers to perform. I also think moving to smaller rings as standard can help improve the entertainment factor in the sport.

I think he will be shunned, as you suggest, by some. The "you are only as good as your last fight" saying isn't entirely true, but has some truth in it. Esp with fans interest in you. So unless Shakur makes a big fight next time I think he'll see some blowback with fans in his next fight with less interest &/or revenue.

The ring thing is interesting to me cuz I think there should be a lot more standard things in boxing & one of those things should be ring size. Its unserious to be able to have a giant ring when you are fighting a big puncher & a tiny ring when you are fighting a runner who can't punch. There should be one standard ring size. In the NFL there isn't a 90 yard field in one stadium & a 110 yard field in another. Some sh^t needs to be standard.

Ring generalship is one of the 4 criterias of judging a fight. Cutting off the ring is a skill alot of fighters don't have today in boxing. Or vise versa using the ring using, step backs, angles, circling and or pivoting. Stevenson just potshot alot without throwing a lot of combinations.

I was rooting for Santos as seen in the thread I started.
Delos Santos' own coach was getting frustrated in the last rounds and was screaming, "DO YOU WANT TO BE A CHAMPION!" So yes, DLS was just as much to blame. He seemed content making Steveson run. For what? He lost.

Stevenson wont fight. He runs. He wants you to chase him and look bad swinging at air. Im surprised at all the people saying it takes 2 and DLS should have chased him, cut off the ring etc. NO! Why should he? He shut down Stevensons game by NOT doing that. I want more fighters to just stand in place and wait for the runner to eventually come back then engage. They will have more success than chasing a bunny around the ring looking like fools.

It takes 2 to tango. It's not rocket science. Most of what DLS did was to taunt Stevenson and do his silly showboating. He too got scared getting punched in the face. He should have stayed in the middle of the ring, took some shots to open up Shakur.

I actually think about it this way. DLS had a ONE HANDED fighter in front of him and was SCARED to commit.
