Comments Thread For: Bakhram Murtazaliev-Jack Culcay Vacant Title Fight Ordered By IBF

Immediate action has been taken to fill the latest vacancy left behind by Jermell Charlo. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the IBF has ordered a vacant junior middleweight title fight between Bakhram Murtazaliev and Jack Culcay. The winner will win the title recently relinquished by Houston's Charlo, though there is still the matter of reaching a deal to get to that point.

RJJ-94-02=GOAT - look at this from the IBF. Murtazaliev last fought on 17/12/2022 in an 8-round fight and is ranked 9 by the TBRB. Culcay is not ranked by TBRB and Boxrec have him at 35. Looking at his opposition at 154 since losing to Derevyanchenko doesn't make for much good reading.

Their rankings are trash man. It was like when they ordered Falcao vs Gualtieri at 160.

More blatant corruption and incompetence from the Boxing world, what's new?

I don't like any of the sanctioning bodies. IBF usually has the worst quality rankings but they seem to be the only sanctioning body that consistently follows their own rules. IBF usually enforce their mandatories and you don't really see the scenario of having champions in recess, super champions and regular champions like the WBA. WBC is their own type of slimy.

This fight is pretty milquetoast but I will be pulling for Golden Jack Culcay. He's always game.

At least they do it in the ring, not over the net. A low quality guy that earns his spot, is better than a, supposedly, high quality guy getting spoon fed. To me.

Culcay is Andrade's best win to date too. He's the guy Andrade fought in place of a title fight vs Lara IIRC.

Should be Lubin vs Madrimov if I were running the IBF.

At least they're fighting for the title, and not sent by email.

The IBF are the best at enforcing the mandatorys fights but there rankings are the worst quality wise. 38 year old jack culcay who hasn't fought a live opponent for like 5 years is not great
