John Fury's opinion on his son vs Usyk before the fight was signed:

“Usyk is a walk in the park, he (Tyson) could come back after 2 years and beat Usyk, he’s been in one of the most dangerous fights in the world with Deontay Wilder, so Usyk poses no threat at all.”

“Tyson wants competition, he wants action and Francis Ngannou’s the man. He’s a bigger threat than Usyk, I’d rather Tyson box Usyk than Ngannou. You know what you’ll get with Usyk; conventional boxing, ping ping ping, running around the ring with no real dangers.”

I can see only one reason for this amazing about-face. John Fury thinks Tyson might need an excuse for losing the first fight with Usyk and he is already looking ahead to the rematch.

If Fury loses to Usyk, John will put the blame on his current training team and try to persuade Tyson to sack them and put him in charge for the rematch.

Good way of describing it fat , thin ...he's right . They're all on the slide at this age, it's a young mans sport with few exceptions.

well its a bit of a mystery getting humpty dumpty into shape

at the end of the day if results dont go as expected a postmortem occurs and everyone will have an opinion as to what went wrong

maybe u just have to credit ngannou, fury fans will say he was off, other fans will say excuses, take your pick i have no idea really, u would need to see fury up close every fight to know whats going on

He's kinda right. Fury has alot of yes man in that camp even sugar hill has become one because he's probably made alot of money training fury. He looked terrible against Ngannou because he thought that it didn't matter what shape he came in

True, though most of the top heavyweights are in their mid to late thirties. Can't really think of any other era where it was like that.
