Why do people rate Filip Hrgovic so highly?

I don't get it either - Filip sleeps in the ring and doesn't really have any impressive victories. He is good, but nothing really impressive so far.

Tyson Fury was 23 years old when he had his 16th Pro fight, nowhere near his Prime. Whereas Hrgovic is in his Prime at 31 years old after 16 fights. Fury at 23 (Pre-Prime) had captured more belts than Hrgovic at the same stage and also boasted a better victory on his resume, a dominant UD over Dereck Chisora holding much more weight than a highly-contested decision over Zhilei Zhang. If you try to imply that Zhang is a better win than Chisora then I can't help you.

Zhang has done nothing but expose Joyce and Hrgovic at this stage.

Chisora was more hyped than Fury at the time and was talked about as a possible future World Champion. He still went on to make multiple World title attempts and has been in with Elite fighters, the only fighter who's been in with both Fury (3x) and Usyk. Has also fought Vitali Klitschko, Joseph Parker (2x), Kubrat Pulev (2x), Robert Helenius, Dillian Whyte (2x), Agit Kabayel, and Carlos Takam. Having reigned as British, Commonwealth, and European champion.

Wallin was a prospect who fought Nick Kisner in his 21st fight or whatever before he exposed Fury and was robbed of a TKO .

What are you going to say after Joshua demolishes him and a far more prepared version I didn’t see Fury jumping for that rematch in fact he went to great lengths to fight Chisora over everyone else around the same guy most Fury fans were saying he should retire prior to that fight ?

This thread is about Filip Hrgovic. I am one of the people who hyped him out of the Amateurs, remember well when he lost to Joe Joyce in the WSB. Since then he hasn't set the World on fire, but in the last 18 months, even after the gift decision against Zhilei Zhang, the Hrgovic hype train has started to pick up serious pace. I've witnessed it happening. We now see people claiming one of Fury, AJ, Usyk, and/or Wilder are ducking Hrgovic. He is being used to fill the void left by Luis Ortiz as the bogeyman. But on paper, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. The Zhang fight left more questions than answers, and his resume beyond that is very sparse. Doesn't make sense to me where the hype comes from, so I made this thread to better understand it. But it's clear to me that people either agree with me or disagree but can't give a clear answer as to what Hrgovic has down as a Pro to show that he should be feared and hyped as a shoo-in for World Champion status. Personally, I am still waiting for his career to catch fire. Seeing him turn his back countless times in the Zhang fight doesn't sit well with me either.

The only times I have mentioned Fury or Wilder is when encouraging the trolls (yourself) to keep it on-topic. Grow up, old man.

There is zero reason to rate anybody at hw very highly, to begin with. Give me one active heavyweight and I will sh.it on his resume.

That is why I always laugh when casuals say Fury, who arguably lost to Ngannou is too good to fight Zhang and Hrgovic.

Fu.ck of, all top 10 heavyweights are in the same class.

I think the general consensus is pretty fair - he’s an up and comer with some serious question marks

He isn’t highly regarded or highly denounced. He’s just still a mild curiosity at the lower end of HW top 10

Hrgovic has a better resume now, than Fury did prior to his fight vs Wladimir Kiltschko.

Chisora was never really spoken of as being destined for a World Championship title.

You could see early on in Chisora career, the type of fighter he was 'Solid, game, a elite level journey man of sorts'.

Hrgovic is a Olympic Bronze medalist, Fury did not even make any Olympic team 'And his best achievement as a amateur is being beaten by David Price over the distance'.

Nobody rate Hrgovic super highly, but the fact is? Hrgovic is one of the top Heavyweights in the game currently.

I personally would not rate Hrgovic along the top-4 heavyweights, but he is one of the top fighters in the chasing pack.

Note: Only David Haye and Dillian Whyte have met Chisora head on and canceled out his moment. David Haye weighing in at 210 pounds, was the first fighter to knock Derek Chisora out 'Tyson Fury in comparison, even though Chisora is stylistically one of the best match ups for him? Has never decked or legitimately knocked out Derek Chisora'.

I highlighted Fury's last fight vs Chisora as a concern 'Fury was unable to deck, and refused to fight a semi-retired miles out of condition Chisora head on. If the referee would not of intervened and manufactured a stoppage, Chisora most likely would of survived the full 12 rounds'.

I have suspected that Fury form in his fights vs Wilder III, Whyte and Chisora III has been decreasing 'I have been one if not the only individual at least around here, who has continually highlighted and theorized this situation'.

If Hrgovic was Fury's next opponent, you would be apprehensive 'I watched Fury's hardcore fans being all apprehensive for his fight vs Dillian Whyte, and celebrate as if it was some sort of all-time great victory. That type of behavior says a lot of what Fury's hardcore fans really believe about Fury's abilities and current form'.

If you guys are ever honest with yourselves, deep down you all just want to protect Fury 'Maybe you know that he is there for the taking, in the right kind of stylistic fight.

Threads like this are just one of the tactics Fury's hardcore fans use to demean a potential contender of Fury 'I was also again one of the first individuals to detect and charted this behavior on a mass scale'.

Fury's hardcore fans will attack and demean the characters of Fury's potential contenders 'In order to devalue and eliminate them as being considered a actual threat. Once enough people agree or buy into those narratives created, Fury's hardcore fans act as if Fury has achieved some sort of mystical dominance within the Heavyweight Division.

I could go on, but this is just one of the classic sociopolitical tactics used by hardcore Fury fans in this thread 'Other thread and the general boxing World'.

Note: I am unsure whether you are fully aware of why you are using those tactics, I have not dismissed the possibility that you may have been influenced on some sort of level etc.

Posters like W1LL are empty men in Fury's clown suits. I prefer to give the facts. The fact is Hrgovic is for now is one of the very few men in Ring Magazine's and Box Rec top ten ratings that is in his prime.


Fury fans will shot down praise and attempt to destroy these fighters won't fight. I would absoltely love to see Hrgovic vs Fury. IMO Hrgovic would knock him out.

His only notable victory is Zhilei Zhang, and that was a gift. He also won a Bronze at the 2016 Olympics and gave Deontay Wilder a tough spar about 12-13 years ago. Seems like these are the reasons people rate him so highly. Literally no other reason. Same old moronic posters talking in riddles with no real substance behind what they're saying.
