Not sure if sitting for a couple months is the best thing for him. I'm not saying he's gotten old overnight or anything but Campbell was working him over and it looked like he was ready to go in the 3rd.

Maybe he gets a rest and can get better acclimated to 140 or maybe the rest turns into rust that gets harder to shake when your older and doesn't pan out so well.

Nate was forced to sign with Don King if he wanted to get any fights.

This is the same reason why Pacquiao pays Arum 27% of his purse. He enjoys getting royally screwed by Arum, because he knows if it wasn't for Arum he would not be getting weight drained opponents or C level "vacant belt" championship fights on PPV.

contract is probably legit but only in his favor but these

You have no clue. So let me get this straight. If you were representing a 36 year old lightweight with 5 losses, and you had the opportunity to get him a 6-figure fight with the undefeated 3 belt champion, plus a 6-figure signing bonus, you would advise him "you know what Nate, just go ahead and fight your next fight on ESPN for $7500 and forget about Diaz"? Thats what you would advise him? Well for the sake of older fighters, I'm glad you dont represent any of them.

Look, if Nate was 25, you might have a point. But he wasnt. He was 36. And at that time GBP and Top Rank had little to no interest in him because they, like everyone else, gave him no chance of beating Diaz.

True that. A lot of people talk smack about how a fighter is ****** or dumb for signing with this promoter, this and that. If you've been following boxing for a long time, you would know that most fighters and their managers have their hands tied and are usually forced into bad contracts because there aren't too many choices available for them. Promoters run the world of boxing and as bad as DK was, he was one of those who run things. Sometimes a fighter has no choice but to sign with a certain promoter, in the case of Nate, it was to get the Diaz fight. And guess what, he got the Diaz fight.

The only positive about this is that DK is on his way down and hopefully young fighters will shy away from signing with him.

Go sign with the UFC and you'll find out how bad it really is. The highest paid fighter in UFC gets $ 440 K and Dana White gets the rest of the ppv and ticket sales, which according to him, easily compares or beats boxing nowadays. $ 440K for the top fighter! That's effed up!

Everybody says things without knowing what they are taliking about. If king offered a contract to any one of the mother ****ers on here they would sign it with they own blood if they could'nt find a pen. People like to talk ****.
