Comments Thread For: Anthony Joshua: I Don't Live in People's Ideologies, I Have My Own Standards That I Set

For a two-time unified heavyweight champion of the world, Anthony Joshua still has plenty of doubters. Those who continue to question Joshua's ability and toughness can largely be ignored but those who wonder whether the 34-year-old still has the hunger to fight his way back to the top of the heavyweight pile may have legitimate concerns.

I do worry AJ is gonna end up like Bruno. Seems like he’s always wrestling with something mentally.

His way of saying, "Stop pressuring me to fight Wilder."

The word "ideology" is not really in context here. I think he meant "ideals".

To be fair to him, "I don't live in people's ideals" would possibly sound even more clunky, but I get what you're saying. He doesn't have to live up to other people's ideals.

At the same time, you could argue that people have a doctrine that says he must fight fighter a, b or c only, or that he must fight a certain way (i.e. seek and detroy) and he is saying that conforming to that credo doesn't jibe with his reality or his own philosophy for his career.

Sounds like he's telling his fans not to expect much .
In other words he won't be fighting anyone with a pulse.Lets see, he's supposed to be 'fighting' in Dec.

Anything to get out of a Wilder fight for a softer route to a belt would do.

Can't you think of a more interesting response than "muh Wilder" at this point? I get it - I really do - that people still want to see this hasbeen matchup but there are surely other things to talk about. Beside, there are ample "muh Wilder" threads you can contribute to near the top of the forum.
