At least he's focused on something more important to him other than money. Unlike Wilder whose only focus is retirement money. Don't really know why Deontay still have some fans left.

To be honest, I think Wallin beats Joshua for a vacant IBF belt if, in any other universe, Hrgovic steps aside.

I was never impressed by his philosophical musings. Always seemed like he'd listened to too many American motivational audiobooks. I suppose in a limited way it helped him but it shouldn't have been interesting to anyone else. I always find interviews with him a little uncomfortable to watch honestly. But I feel like that about most people in the sports and entertainment industry. In western culture we have this strange idea that because someone has a specific skill we find entertaining they must have general intellectual value. They rarely do in my opinion.

I can understand why you would say that and you may be right. However, as I suggested in a recent thread, I wonder if Hearn and Joshua's interests are starting to diverge. Hearn hasn't said it directly and was speaking in a general sense, but he wants to move away from "run out" fights and press fighters to take the right fights sooner (see the 18 minute mark of the video at this link).

I think this may be why there's been such a delay in announcing Joshua's next fight. AJ is probably happy with a "run out" but I'm not sure Hearn is. A fight with Hrgovic or Wallin for a (virtually meaningless) belt probably falls somewhere between a "run out" and a super fight with Fury, Wilder and, yes, even Ngannou. This is why Hearn is being so vocal about those latter fights. I think he actually needs them.

AJ v Parker and Wilder v Ruiz on the same card is what I'd want to see.

            Winners fight, losers retire!
