Given this I hope ESPN, DAZN, promoters and Saudis find a way to take this fight off of PPV.

At this point, put the fight in England. At least that way the crowd atmosphere will be better.

Showtime leaves boxing. Hwt champ does less than 70k ppvs. Sport is in a really bad space at the moment.

Literally the only reason RyanTank didnt flop was because it was basically a popular influencer against a guy that is semi popular in the rap/hood whatever scene, it was basically an influencer/rappers gathering, not an event for boxing "enthusiasts/purists" (which by the way keep holding the sport back).
600k ppv buys ain't a big number. That's wilder vs Fury territory.

A 2pm ppv will never do 1 million buys in america.

Not a big number as if boxing pulls that regularly lol.

Besides what's your point? How much do you think FuryWilder would've done if it was in abu dhabi? Let me tell you, not much.

The 600k+ in a fight in abu dhabi is a testament to the success of the event, he did what the most anticipated fight in boxing for the last who knows what did, at USA.

Fury isn't a star outside of the UK. Ngannou has never been a big draw in mma.

I mean ufc never rarely ever pull 1 million buys and will never pull 4.6 million buy which is the record. So lets stop with the comparisons buddy.

A Wilder vs Fury would have did 100k buys if it had a 2pm start time. 300k 800k and 600k ppvs don't happen without a u.s. primetime start. Those numbers would be cut by 2/3 with a 11am west coast start time. That's just a fact. What are you even debating?

I already made my point. 2pm start time hurt fury vs Ngannou. They do more buys automatically with a standard 9pm u.s. fight time instead of 2pm.

The purses are bigger in Saudi arabia. So the fighter better take it. But don't ever expect big numbers with a ppv that starts at 11am west coast time. No fight parties in the A.M

Even this huge MMA junkie at my job had no interest in watching it, lol. I told him about it and he never had much interest to watch it. He said Ngannou was a beast in MMA, yadada, but didn't care to see how well he boxed.

I don't know, I think some of these "circus" fights are a hard sell, unless you can truly capture the casuals. The diehard fans are probably the ones that wouldn't buy it. They either look at it as a mismatch, or look at it as meaningless. Nobody ever asked for this fight. They wanted Fury-Usyk in the boxing world. MMA fans I HIGHLY doubt ever asked for it either, but I really have no clue since I don't pay attention there. AND so what if Ngannou did better than anyone expected? Good for him, but it really doesn't effect much else. It was mostly a circus show from the beginning.

If anything, it shows that Fury should have fought Usyk sooner than later. Perhaps it can be an easier win for Fury if he waits out Usyk, but it won't be as lucrative as it would have been prior.

I think most fans assumed Fury would just make easy work of him and it wouldn't be competitive. Now that Fury has given a poor showing of himself it makes the Usyk fight all that more compelling. I still think Fury's most lucrative fight would be against AJ, but he needs to fight for undisputed next.

A rematch would likely do better. Ngannu losing by stoppage was a foregone conclusion. It doesn’t seem that way now. Now there’s drama from the first fight where some people thought Ngannu won.

                  Rematch should do considerably better.

But...but... Fury is such a huge mega star and any PPV successes are only due to him and he could fight anyone he wants and still do big numbers because he's such an A-side...

Meanwhile Usyk has yet to do under 250K and has at least 3 fights over a million but he's a total unknown B-side who doesn't sell well...

That being said, a rematch would likely do well, but Fury has to get through 2 fights with Usyk without retiring first, and Ngannou has to keep winning. I hear he's taking on Chisora on Dec 23.

I wouldn’t be surprised if tickets were given away, to get the event filled.
