Granted.... Waddell & Reed went bankrupt
He had help. Ryan Caldwell who worked at Waddell Reed as a fund manager is the one who brokered the deal. Then after is was signed he resigned (or was fired depending on who you ask) and then he went to work for Haymon.
You dont have to be Columbo to figure out what happened LOL

cost, for one. That other content is probably pennies on the dollar, comparatively. And the cross-promotional mess that boxing is, well it certainly isnt friendly to broadcasters. They couldnt even make a fight like Tank-Garcia without a split broadcast deal. I just dont see Netflix wanting to take on all the baggage that boxing brings......paulf likes this.

Live sports bring advertisers, which Netflix has been working hard to get the past year.
advertising only works for boxing on 2nd tier content like ESPN Friday Night Fights, or Boxeo Telemundo, or platforms like that, where advertisers dont care who is fighting. For A-level content, it doesnt work like traditional sports that have a fixed run time. For a football game, they know exactly how many commercials they can sell. A main event boxing match might be over in 2 minutes. Advertisers wont pay premium ad spot pricing for an event that their spot may never even be seen.......factsarenice likes this.

Zero chance this happens, as OnePunch said.
Chris Mannix quoted someone from Netflix on his podcast a few weeks ago as saying "We're not anti-Sports, we're just pro-profit. Live sports would have to make financial sense."
Time and time again, boxing has proven to NOT be that in the United States right now.

To succeed on American TV, a promoter would probably need to copy the UFC model - make your own league, with your own belts, and commit to putting on exciting, 50-50 matchup type fights. BKFC was a clown show when it started, but it followed this model and is now growing and succeeding.
Haymon thought about doing this when PBC was launched - even having belts made, but eventually walked it back.
Rather than have a bunch of promoters with exclusive TV deals that essentially makes them each their own league, but they all pretend they're not, someone need to pull the trigger and just start calling it what it is.OnePunch likes this.

I'm sure they are YT partners & get a few bucks per 1k views, but that can't be enough to pay everyone cuz their view numbers aren't great.
Who's a sponsor? I've not noticed them hyping much, if anything, on their shows that ir.
Ik Garry Jonas, the guy behind Probox, has some weird relationship with that White Sands rehab place, or w/e it is, they do their fights in so I'm sure their cards probably don't have a lot of expenses besides paying the boxers & paying for the refs, judges, etc so that probably keeps the costs down.
